Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers (ABAA) formed in 1976 has been involved in creating awareness about Astronomy among public. ABAA meets every Sunday and discuss astronomy topics, conduct lectures, sky viewing and help members build their own telescopes.

Sunday, 24/5/2026, evening at the Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers (ABAA). Members helped in the assembly of the newly purchased telescope by Mr Sultan and guided him on various aspects of telescope setup. BMS engineering students who are in the process of assembling a 10 Inch telescope discussed the progress with Ravindra Aradhya, President of ABAA. Members also discussed on a telescope base that Mr Jagan is making for his 16-inch telescope, which will help him in moving the telescope easily, and Mr. Srinivas (Seenu) is helping with the matter.

Sunday 24/5/2026 evening at ABAA. The Sunday evening session talk and Discussions on the the book, Longitude. ABAA member Somil Gupta gave the introduction to the book and explained the concept of Longitude comprehensively. Members had a good interactive discussion after the talk with very insightful views.

Sunday 17/5/26 evening at ABAA. Last Sunday ABAA member Mr. Ram Mohan gave a talk on Astronomical instruments used in the ancient Indian Astronomy. He gave detailed information on concepts behind the instruments and their application. It is an effort at ABAA to explore the Astronomical instruments of ancient Indian Astronomers.
