🇮🇳🇨🇺 Celebrating India’s Independence Day with the Spirit of India–Cuba Friendship in Bengaluru

It was a proud and memorable occasion to celebrate India’s Independence Day at Noor College of Nursing and Pharmacy, Bengaluru, in the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest, H.E. Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to India.

The presence of the Cuban Ambassador in Karnataka on this important national occasion beautifully reflected the longstanding friendship, solidarity and mutual respect shared between India and Cuba. It also highlighted the growing opportunities for cooperation in areas such as education, nursing, pharmacy, healthcare, biotechnology, culture and people-to-people engagement.

This celebration carried special significance as it took place against the backdrop of the centenary commemorations of Fidel Castro, an iconic Cuban leader whose life and legacy continue to be remembered with respect by many people in Karnataka and across India.

The participation of the Ambassador of Cuba in the Independence Day celebrations in Bengaluru represents an important milestone in strengthening Karnataka–Cuba engagement and bringing bilateral relations closer to educational institutions, students and the wider community.

Independence Day is not only an occasion to honour India’s freedom and the sacrifices of our national leaders, but also an opportunity to celebrate friendships with nations that have stood for sovereignty, solidarity and international cooperation.

🇮🇳🇨🇺 Fashion Diplomacy: Celebrating India–Cuba Friendship Through Culture & Style

A truly wonderful evening in Bengaluru celebrating the spirit of textiles, fashion, culture and diplomacy between India and Cuba and honoring Fathima Asif for the contribution of relations.

It was a privilege to spend the evening with H.E. Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, Ambassador of Cuba to India, renowned fashion guru Prasad Bidappa, and the elegant ladies of Bengaluru, beautifully dressed in traditional sarees.

The evening brought together the richness of Indian textiles and sarees with the colour, creativity and cultural expression of Cuba, demonstrating how fashion can become a powerful instrument of cultural diplomacy. The beautiful costumes, warm conversations and shared appreciation for our respective traditions created a memorable atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.

Fashion is much more than what we wear—it tells the story of our heritage, craftsmanship, identity and people. Such cultural exchanges create bridges between nations in ways that formal diplomacy alone cannot achieve.

A beautiful celebration of India–Cuba friendship, where diplomacy met design, tradition met creativity, and cultures came together through textiles and fashion.
