ಈ ತರಬೇತಿ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೀಕರಿಸುವುದು, ತಜ್ಞರ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಂಕ ಕಡಿಮೆಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹೇಳಿತು.

Strengthening Mental Health Services in Bengaluru North City

The DMHP team of GBA conducted a training session for Namma Clinic Doctors at Mini Vidhana Soudha, Yelahanka, led by Health Officer Dr. Siddapaji and Program Officer Dr. Ramu G.
Dr. Vikram Arunachalam, Psychiatrist with DMHP, served as the resource person.

The session emphasized integrating mental health into primary care, bridging the specialist shortage, and reducing stigma at the community level.

The District Mental Health Programme, Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) participated in Mental Santhe 3.0 at the NIMHANS Convention Centre.
The GBA team showcased the successful integration of mental health into primary healthcare and the expansion of tele-mental health services for the urban population.

Visitors appreciated initiatives addressing depression, substance use, and community mental well-being.
The MANOBIMBA YouTube channel, an awareness initiative of GBA, received special attention for promoting mental health literacy among citizens.

We were honoured by the presence of several eminent personalities, including the Director, NIMHANS, who visited and appreciated the efforts of the DMHP team.

World Su***de Prevention Day 2025 – Awareness Activity 🌍💙

The District Mental Health Programme of Greater Bengaluru Authority, in collaboration with ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Rajajinagar, organized a series of impactful activities to mark World Su***de Prevention Day.

🕊️ Walkathon: Students and staff came together in a solidarity walk, spreading messages of hope and awareness on su***de prevention.

🎭 Stage Program & Skit: A powerful skit was performed for the public, highlighting the myths, stigma, and importance of seeking timely help.

🎤 Student Engagement: Experts conducted an interactive session with students and staff on “Changing the Narrative on Su***de”, emphasizing positive communication and early intervention.

📞 Helpline Promotion: Awareness was created on the Tele-MANAS Mental Health Helpline, ensuring that help is just a call away.

💳 Launch of Pocket-Friendly Cards: Tele-MANAS access cards were distributed to students for easy access to mental health support.

DMHP – East Zone Medical Officers Meeting

A brief reorientation session was successfully conducted today for BBMP East Zone Medical Officers, in the presence of HO (East)

📝 Key points covered during the session:
✅ Early screening & treatment of common mental health conditions at PHC level
✅ Maintenance of drug stock registry for psychiatric medications
✅ Timely entry of Manochaitanya Clinic data on DMHP software
✅ Conducting regular IEC activities on mental health awareness at PHCs

👩‍⚕️ HO (East) Smt Dr Bhagyalakshmi appreciated the efforts so far and assured that regular review of progress will be carried out, focusing on:

Subedar Palya Health Centre, in collaboration with the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), conducted an awareness program today for students.

The session focused on the dangers of substance use, preventive strategies, and how to seek help. A special highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to stay away from drugs and promote a healthy, drug-free life.

Also in attendance were the Subedar Palya PHC Medical Officer and staff who supported the initiative.
