Citizen Interface Platform of BBMP on Property Tax Payment and Khatha

This page is being monitored now on a daily basis.We request communities, citizens who have grievances on khata issues and property taxes to use this page to air their grievances.
The primary purpose is-i)to ensure that there is no harassment and undue delays in resolving grievances at all levels. ii)To communicate better with citizens and address doubts and remove misconceptions iii)to strive for delivery of basis revenue services without middlemen and without the citizen paying any extraneous costs to the builders or middlemen or both.

In the ARO offices there are three services which come under Sakala.They are applications for khata registration,applications for khata transfer and applications for khata extract.For all these three services the citizen is entitled to time bound service delivery.On filing of an application for any of these three services the citizen gets a GSC number and an sms on his/her phone.Application status can be tracked and delivery of service is time bound.

Khata issuance is a Sakala Service and is time bound.Any applicant who files for a khatha applition is entitled to a GSC number.Applicants should be aware of this right and should seek a GSC number.This also helps them track their application.

We are also working on immediate reforms to make the khata application and issual process quick,efficient and transparent.Our endeavour is to see that the citizen should pay only the BBMP mandated fees and nothing more.We also want to make the process a direct transaction between the citizen and the BBMP with no room for any intermediaries or extraneous costs.Look forward to your suggestions and feedback.

All Joint Commissioners of the Zones have been given clear instructions to hold khata melas for all properties for which Occupancy certificates have been issued.Khata Melas are to ensure that there is seamless transition towards getting your property a PID number/sub number,declaring and paying the property tax due.There is no cost to be paid to any intermediary other than the BBMP mandated fees.All resident associations/affected citizens may please follow up on this and give a feedback on this platform.

We also seek active participation from Resident Welfare Associations,Civic Groups and organisations.
