Rajneethi is proud to unveil our latest report, authored by thought leader Pramit Pal Chaudhuri, exploring India’s evolving perspectives on security, geopolitics, and trade.

In collaboration with Friedrich Naumann Foundation India and kalingakusum, we surveyed urban elites across 46 key questions to map the future of India’s strategic autonomy.

📊 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀

➛ 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘃𝘀. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: India is a rising force, yet unemployment and environmental pollution remain the top domestic concerns.

➛ 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Foreign policy is perceived as inward-looking, with India primarily seeing itself as a leader of the Global South.

➛ 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀: The US retains the strongest military power, but the EU and China are viewed as the dominant economic engines.

➛ 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿: The US is still seen as the technological leader, with China following closely behind.

➛ 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Despite growing Western ties, Russia remains India’s most trusted security partner.

➛ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆: There is overwhelming support for maintaining strategic autonomy, including continued trade with Russia.

➛ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We found strong support for deeper economic integration with the European Union.

The report was officially launched on March 2nd, at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. 🏛️
