AI is here to stay. ✨ So the next big question for countries around the world is how to create, manage and support the infrastructure to power this technology adoption at scale? India is working on a unique model to AI infrastructure 🔌 , and so we spoke with the former Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Abhishek Singh to get a strategic look at their plans ahead. Read Anomaly Vol. 31. Link in bio

India’s has some core advantages in the AI infrastructure sector: young talent at scale, and experience building digital public infrastructure like Aadhaar and UPI. However, Abhishek Singh highlights the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure real-world impact.

India and Switzerland’s collaborative relationship is one such example, with plans to create a framework for a shared global compute infrastructure by the next AI Summit in Geneva, as well as shared voluntary guiding principles for resilient, innovative and efficient AI.

If you want just a glimpse at what this could look like in action, we also spoke to Antriksh Cloud—an Indian startup that is actually building the physical backbone of AI—developing large-scale, domestic data centres designed to process AI workloads within India.

For a deeper look at some of these initiatives and how they fit into India’s AI infrastructure mission, check out the complete newsletter.

Could you walk through a lost cultural site without leaving your city? Or lie back under a dome and look up at the hidden ceilings of Mumbai’s old buildings? The answer is YES!

Anomaly Vol. 30 explores the world of where we meet some pioneers in India and Switzerland rethinking how the public can connect with their history and heritage. Read it now with the link in bio.

We spoke to EPFL’s own Dr. Sarah Kenderdine, who creates immersive environments turning archives into experiences. Dr. Kenderdine has developed many projects across South Asia including the PLACE-Hampi Museum and the Atlas of Maritime Buddhism. We asked her what it could look like for communities of the future to reconnect with long-lost cultural knowledge digitally?

The Science Gallery Bengaluru is building a different kind of museum altogether — a “live lab” where artists, scientists and young people explore how science and culture shape everyday life. Founding Director, Jahnavi Phalkey takes us through just a snippet of what goes into that process. No permanent collections. No passive viewing. Just ideas you can walk through, debate and co-create.

Together, they show us that culture isn’t static—and neither are the tools we use to share it.

Think Anomaly looks… anomalous? We’ve also refreshed the format! Shorter, sharper and easier to dive into—with the same Swissnex insights, opportunities and open calls you know and love.

This month’s Anomaly is different than what you might be used to. But it’s for a good reason!

It’s our end-of-year roundup of ✨ moments that mattered, 📚 a reading list worth saving, 🎧 a playlist for cozy Winter nights, and 📺 a watchlist that’s just a little controversial. Our best moments of 2025 for your 2026.

“Stay curious, stay proactive, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.”

That’s the mindset that shaped Gunja Gupta’s ThinkSwiss journey at the Biozentrum, —where the lab quickly became her second home. Gunja’s research in computational biology focuses on the most common type of genetic variation in humans which can influence our ability to process medicines. They’re called Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs). Over 3 months in Switzerland, Gunja explored whether we can predict how those genetic variations can affect drug responses in people.

Working in a world-class research environment, Gunja embraced every opportunity to learn: new techniques, new ways of thinking, and the rhythm of a fast-paced lab where curiosity is an asset. One of her proudest moments came when her supervisor asked her to extend her internship until January 2026—a huge milestone and a testament to her hard work and commitment in the lab.

Gunja’s advice for future applicants? Be genuine, stay open-minded, and make the most of every single learning moment. The experience moves fast, and the more you put into it, the more it gives back.

Applications for ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships are now open until January 31st! Don’t miss out. Link in bio.

There are 22 official languages in India, hundreds of dialects, millions of people. But the digital world still speaks a language they don’t. What if technology could help us meet people where they are?

Read Vol. 28 on Language and AI now: https://lnkd.in/gYg55U2G

This edition of Anomaly uncovers how is reshaping digital access through open, public digital infrastructure for language. From features like voice-first services to speech-to-speech translation, Bhashini aims to create a comfortable foundation for the next wave of language tech in India. We sat down with CEO Amitabh Nag to learn what it takes to build AI that reflects how India actually speaks.

Learn more about what Team Swissnex has been up to this month (and what will be up to soon), including Switzerland at the S&T Clusters Conference, a public lecture on AI & philanthropy, meeting innovative founders at AIT India Camp, and how poetry meets AMR awareness.

Over the past three days, Swiss Business Hub India and Swissnex in India, Consulate General of Switzerland came together for ‘Coast to Code’, a retreat designed to reconnect, realign and strengthen how Team Switzerland works across trade, innovation, academia and investment.

What made this gathering special was the chance to step away from our daily routines and look at the bigger picture. We revisited our shared purpose, understood each other’s mandates more deeply and explored what collaboration really looks like when we combine our strengths. From presentations and planning sessions to cultural reflections and plenty of informal conversations, the retreat helped us see how complementary our roles truly are.

A highlight was working with Sundae Schneider-Bean, who guided us through learning loops on partnership management and operational clarity, tools we’re excited to bring into our workflows.

Most importantly, ‘Coast to Code’ gave us space to build trust, share successes openly and set the foundation for a more cohesive and ambitious 2026. Energised by the ideas and optimism that emerged, we leave this retreat with a renewed sense of direction and a stronger Team Switzerland spirit.

What does it take to turn science into startup success?

Last week, the Academia Industry Training (AIT) India Camp 2025 gave us a front-row seat to the answer.
From deep-dive sessions with India’s innovation ecosystem to immersive visits across Bengaluru, the cohort explored what it means to build for India — and to pitch their science to the world.

The week wrapped with two high-energy showcases — the Bengaluru Tech Summit and the AIT Mixer — where all 18 founders presented their solutions to some of India’s most active industry leaders, investors, and innovators.

And this is just the beginning. AIT is a journey, and the next chapter takes these founders to Switzerland in March 2026. Stay tuned.
