ಎನ್‌ಆರ್‌ಐ ಮತದಾನ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ನಾನು ಭಾರತದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ, ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ರವಾನಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಮದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ನನಗೇ ತಿಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪತ್ರ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮನವಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ. ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರ (NRI) ಮತದಾನ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ! 🇮🇳🗳️

My petition to the President of India on NRI voting rights (ETPBS extension for overseas Indian electors) has been forwarded by the President’s Secretariat directly to the Chief Election Commissioner of India — with clear instructions that action taken be communicated to me personally.

Grateful for this response, and more importantly, hopeful for the millions of overseas Indians still waiting for their right to vote to become truly accessible. The advocacy continues. 🇮🇳🗳️

ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಗೌರವ ಕೊಡುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯಿಂದ… ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಗೌರವ ಕೊಡುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯತ್ತ!

ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಹುದ್ದೆ, ಹಣ, ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸ್ಥಾನಮಾನ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಗೌರವ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆದರೆ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಅನೇಕ workplace cultures ನಮಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾಠ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತವೆ:

“ನೀವು ಯಾರು?” ಎನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, “ನೀವು ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂಬುದೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ.

CEO ಆಗಿರಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ —
ಗೌರವವು Designation‌ನಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ, Behaviour‌ನಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕು.
ಅಧಿಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ, ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕು.
ಹಣದಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕು.

ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಯಾವ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು ಸುಲಭ.

ಆದರೆ ಹುದ್ದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಾನಮಾನವನ್ನು ಬದಿಗಿಟ್ಟು, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಡವಳಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗುಣವನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವುದು ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ.

ಸಮಾಜ ಬದಲಾಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ, ಮೊದಲು ನಮ್ಮ “ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ವಿಧಾನ” ಬದಲಾಗಬೇಕು.

👉 Respect should be earned by character, not inherited through status.

🌍❤️ ದೇಶಗಳು ದೂರವಾದರೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಒಂದಾಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ!

ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಕುಟುಂಬದಂತೆ ಬೆಸೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. 🇮🇳💛❤️

ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲ…
ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾವನೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುವ ಬಂಧ!

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri DK Shivakumar avare,

Karnataka is home to a vast and vibrant NRI community contributing to our state’s economy, development and global identity.

Yet, the concerns of Non-Resident Kannadigas deserve a dedicated institutional voice within the Karnataka Government.

It is time for Karnataka to establish a separate NRI Ministry with an exclusive portfolio, ensuring that the concerns of our NRIs—from welfare and investment to voting rights, connectivity and reintegration—receive focused attention.

Our NRIs are not just contributors to Karnataka’s growth; they are Karnataka’s global ambassadors.

Hon’ble CM, we respectfully urge you to take this historic step and give our global Kannadiga community the representation it deserves.

🌍 Can NRIs Vote in India?

The answer is Yes—but there's more to the story.

Eligible Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can register as Overseas Electors under the current legal framework. However, under the existing system, they generally need to travel to their registered constituency in India to cast their vote in person.

For many NRIs, distance, travel costs, and work commitments make this difficult.

This acknowledgment is an important milestone. While it is not a final decision, it reflects that the representation has entered the official process for consideration.

Our mission remains the same—to create awareness, encourage informed dialogue, and support constructive discussions on strengthening democratic participation for eligible Overseas Indian citizens within the framework of Indian law.
