महिनाभर चाललेल्या स्पर्धा, चौदा तालुक्यातून सहभागी झालेले खेळाडू, तब्बल १३४ संघ आणि हजारोंच्या क्रिडारसिकांच्या आवाजाने दुमदुमलेला कबड्डीचा जयघोष बारामतीच्या मातीतून आसमंतात गरजला तेव्हाचं मातीतल्या खेळाला नवा विश्वास मिळाल्याचा आनंद क्रिडारसिकांच्या डोळ्यात तरळून गेला.

सृजन सुपर २० कबड्डी स्पर्धेच्या अंतिम सामन्यामध्ये मुलांच्या “आदिनाथ स्पोर्टस अकॅडमी” या पिंपरी चिंचवडच्या संघाने तर मुलींच्या गटात “ज्ञानप्रबोधिनी क्रिडा संस्था” पिंपरी चिंचवडच्या संघाने पहिल्या सृजन करंडकावर नाव कोरलं.

स्थानिक पातळ्यांवर चमकणाऱ्या खेळाडूंना कबड्डीच्या जाज्वल्य पायाभरणीचा इतिहास समजावा म्हणून माजी कबड्डीपटूंचा सन्मान या स्पर्धेच्या निमित्ताने करण्यात आला.

अर्जुन पुरस्कार प्राप्त खेळाडू शांताराम जाधव, राजु भावसार, शकुंतला खटावकर, माया आकरे, पंकज शिरसाठ तर छत्रपती पुरस्कार प्राप्त खेळाडू किशोरी शिंदे, शोभा भगत बारामतीच्या मातीत खेळून राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर नाव कोरलेले राष्ट्रीय खेळाडू रंजना पोतेकर, रेखा सावंत, शिल्पा भंडारी व अनुराधा उरसळ या माजी खेळाडूंचा सन्मान करण्यात आला.
इतक्या मोठ्या संख्येने अर्जुन पुरस्कार प्राप्त, छत्रपती पुरस्कार प्राप्त आणि राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर नाव कोरलेले माजी खेळाडू एकत्र येण्याची हि पहिलीच वेळ होती.

कबड्डीच्या या गौरवशाली इतिहासाचा सन्मान म्हणून माजी खेळाडूंचा सत्कार तर अभिमान वाटणारा वर्तमान म्हणून प्रो कब्बडीतून चमकणारे निलेश साळुंखे, अक्षय जाधव, सुलतान डांगे, मोमीन शेख, दादा आव्हाड यांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला.

कबड्डीचं भविष्य देखील तितकच दमदार घडावं म्हणून जिल्हा परिषद शाळेतील मुलांचे दोन संघ करण्यात आले. त्यांनाही कबड्डीचे डावपेच खेळता आल्यानं येणाऱ्या काळाबद्दल ठाम विश्वास निर्माण झाला.

सोबतच कबड्डीच्या स्पर्धांच्या निमित्ताने का होईना निस्वार्थपणाने सेवा करणाऱ्या अंगणवाडी सेविका व आशा सेविकांचा सन्मान करण्यात आला. महाआरोग्य शिबिराच्या निमित्ताने त्यांनी केलेल्या कष्टासाठी हा सन्मान आयोजित करण्याच आला.

स्पर्धा यशस्वी करण्यात मोलाचा वाटा उचलणारे शांताराम जाधव, संदेश जाधव, दादा आव्हाड, कौस्तुभ देशपांडे तर सामन्यांना उपस्थित असणारे ॲग्रीकल्चर डेव्हलपमेंट ट्रस्टचे चेअरमन राजेंद्रदादा पवार, विश्वस्त सुनंदाताई पवार, पुणे जिल्हापरिषदेचे अध्यक्ष विश्वासनाना देवकाते अध्यक्ष यांच्याबरोबरीनेच उपस्थित असणारे सभापती, उपसभापती,शासकिय पदाधिकारी, हितचिंतक व क्रिडारसिक यांचे मनापासून आभार.

A month long tournaments, players participating from 14 talukas, 134 teams.. And, enthusiastic chanting of kabaddi by fans when ascended into sky straight from the ground of Baramati, sports lovers were assured that this sport of the soil has gained impeccable trust.

In male section, Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Adinath Sports Acadamy and in female section, ‘Dnyanprabodhini Kreeda Sanstha’ of Pimpri-Chinchwad won the finals of first ‘Srujan Super 20 Kabaddi Tournament’.

Former kabaddi players were honoured to let talented local players understand the history of the foundation of this charismatic sport. Arjun award winner players Shantaram Jadhav, Raju Bhavsar, Shakuntala Khatavkar, Maya Akre, Pankaj Shirsath, Chhatrapati awardee Kishori Shinde, Shobha Bhagat, national players Ranjana Potekar, Rekha Sawant, Shilpa Bhandari and Anuradha Ursal all of who hail from Baramati were felicitated at the event.

This was the first time where so many Arjun, Chhatrapati awardees and national players shared the dais.
As their felicitation reflected the honour of splendid history of Kabaddi, Pro-kabaddi stars like Nitin Salunkhe, Akshay Jadhav, Sultan Dange, Momin Shaikh and Dada Avhad’s felicitation reminded us the present glory of the sport.
To ensure same serendipity for the future, two teams of ZP school students were also formed. As they quickly mastered the techniques of the sport, we are assured of the coming future.

Along with that, the anganwadi and Asha workers who selflessly devoted themselves in the works of ‘Maha Arogya’ health camps were also honoured to appreciate their recognition.

I honestly thank Shantaram Jadhav, Dada Avhad, Kaustubh Deshpande who had lion’s share in the success of the tournament and chairman of Agriculture Development Trust Rajendradada Pawar, trustee Sunandatai Pawar, Pune ZP chairman Vishwas Nana Devkate, Chairperson who attended the event. I also express my gratitude to government officials, well wishers and sports lovers who enthusiastically supported the tournament.
