बात सन 2008 की हैं जिला मुजफ्फरनगर में पूरे भारत ने जाटों की ताकत को माना था मुजफ्फरनगर के पूर्व सांसद हरेन्द्र मलिक के पुत्र पंकज मलिक ने अधिकारी की बदसलूकी से नाराज होकर उस अधिकारी की बढिया मरम्मत कर दी मायावती सरकार में पंकज मलिक और उनके 4 साथियों पर कई संगीन धाराये लगी जनवरी की सर्दियों में जाटों ने ऐलान कर दिया पंकज मलिक की गिरफ्तारी नहीं होने देंगे पंकज मलिक के 3 साथी गिरफ्तार कर लिए। सर छोटूराम जाट डिग्री कालेज के मैदान में पंचायत रखी गई वह मैदान कभी किसी रैली में इतना नहीं भरा था जितनी जनता उस दिन थी मंच पर चौधरी अजित सिंह, चौधरी महेंद्र सिंह टिकैत, चौधरी हरेन्द्र मलिक और भी कई जाट नेता उपस्थित थे वह आखिरी पल था जब पश्चिमी उ०प्र० के सारे जाट नेताओं को एक साथ देखा था चौधरी महेंद्र सिंह टिकैत जी ने घोषणा कर दी या तो टैम देख कर ठीक 10 मिनट में म्हारे बालकों कू यहाँ म्हारे धोरे लादो या 11 वी मिनट में हम सारे जाट जेल तोड़ के खुद ले आवेंगे बाबा की बात सुनकर सारा मैदान गुंज गया हालत यही हो गई थी कि जाटों का गुस्सा देख पूरा मुजफ्फरनगर शहर अपने घरों में चले गए थे बाबा की बात सुनकर प्रशासन के कान खड़े हुए 6 मिनट के अंदर सारे लडके बाहर आ गये थे ये थी जाटों की ताकत। आज ये चीजें सुनने में असंभव लगती हैं परंतु बाबा टिकैत के सामने ऐसे ऐसे काम हुए हैं कि सुनने वाले चकित हो जाते हैं अगर आज बाबा टिकैत जी जीवित होते तो किसानों की ऐसी हालत नहीं होती और नहीं जाटों के बेकसूर लडके जेलों में रहते। हमे अपनी ताकत दोबारा बनानी होगी वरना सरकार इतना शोषण कर देगी कि हम खुद ही खत्म हो जाएंगे
