2nd and Final Day Training on Strengthening Labour Room Practices
The 2nd and final day of the Training on Strengthening Labour Room Practices with a focus on Prevention of Birth Asphyxia and Cerebral Palsy in Assam was successfully conducted for Barpeta District.
The training programme, organised by the National Health Mission with support from UNICEF, was held at the Conference Hall of Hotel Manas Kanya.
The programme aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers in improving labour room practices, ensuring quality intrapartum care, and reducing preventable newborn complications. Participants actively engaged in technical sessions, practical demonstrations, and discussions focused on enhancing maternal and newborn healthcare services across the district.
Together, we remain committed to ensuring safer childbirth and healthier outcomes for mothers and newborns.

As part of the 2nd Phase of the 100 Days TB Elimination Programme, Nikshay Shibirs are being conducted across various locations in Barpeta district to strengthen TB case detection and awareness among the community.
A handheld digital X-ray machine is also being utilized in these camps for early identification of suspected TB cases, enabling timely diagnosis and prompt initiation of treatment.
Together, we continue our efforts towards achieving a TB-free Barpeta and a TB-free India.

The camps provide TB symptom screening, awareness sessions, counselling, referral services, and access to diagnostic facilities for suspected cases. Health teams are actively reaching out to vulnerable and high-risk populations to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment.
