The multidisciplinary character and applied engineering skills required for the industries is not reflected in the curricula and therefore, the industry specific skills require to be supplemented with applied engineering skills by other Institutions like the one being established as IPET (Institute of Power Engineers Training). It is a known and established fact all over the world that while technologies and equipments can be imported, the skilled manpower required has to be developed locally. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the industries to train and develop the human resources in order to groom them to tackle the technologies and equipments deployed in their industries. Considering the size of the industries, it would not be possible for any single industry to assume such responsibility.
