World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar, invites applications for its 1-Year Advanced Course in Hospitality & Hotel Operations, designed to equip youth with industry-relevant skills for careers in the hospitality sector.

The programme covers key areas including hospitality and tourism, food & beverage operations, barista and bartending, front office operations, housekeeping, hospitality IT systems and event management.

WSC, Bhubaneswar, welcomed Abdul Rahman V.N.S., Corporate Functional Head – Installation; K.Z. Muhyideen Abdul Kader (MAK), Regional Head – Telangana & Andhra Pradesh; and Shrinivas B. Madigeri, AGM – Human Resources & Administration, Mitsubishi Elevator Private Limited, during their visit to the advanced labs of World Skill Center.

The delegation interacted with the Dr. Subhanga Kishore Das, Principal, WSC, and explored the State’s advanced skilling ecosystem, training infrastructure and potential avenues for future industry collaboration.

The Government of Odisha, through the World Skill Center (WSC), Bhubaneswar, organised an MoU Exchange Ceremony on 6 October 2026, marking an important step towards strengthening industry, academia and knowledge partnerships in the State’s skilling ecosystem.

MoUs were exchanged with leading industry, academic and knowledge partners, including Hettich Poddar Woodworking Institute, 1M1B Foundation, iFOREST, F5 India, Semantics, CIEL HR Services Ltd., OASME, Cloos India, Calderys India, Utkal University, Delphi-TVS Technologies Ltd., THK India, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University and Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Pvt. Ltd.

The ceremony was graced by Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister, Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education, Odisha, and Shri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Odisha and Shri Chakravarti Singh Rathore, IAS, DTE&T.

The MoUs seek to strengthen industry-aligned skilling, technology and knowledge exchange, industry exposure, employment opportunities and emerging career pathways for the youth of Odisha.

Smt. Santoshi Sahoo, OAS, Special Secretary, SD&TE Department-cum-COO, WSC, delivered the welcome address, while Shri Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO, WSC, briefed the gathering on the MoUs and their objectives.

The partnerships reaffirm the Government of Odisha’s commitment to building a strong, industry-responsive and future-ready skill ecosystem, enabling the State’s youth to acquire relevant skills and access opportunities in emerging sectors.

The World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar had the privilege of hosting Swami Satyachaitanya Ji, Director – Operations, Sri Sri University, for a special motivational session with WSC staff and students.

With rich experience in leadership, institutional development, youth mentoring and Vedic knowledge, Swami Ji shared valuable insights on integrating timeless wisdom into modern life.

The session explored key themes including:

Powering Odisha’s Green Energy Future! 🌱

The World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar, and Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) have joined hands to establish a Centre of Excellence in Green Energy at WSC, supported through a ₹1.49 Crore CSR initiative.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister, GoO, Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment, Energy; Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Industries; Skill Development & Technical Education.

Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department & CMD, OHPC Ltd.; Shri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education Department; Smt. Santoshi Sahoo, COO WSC; Shri Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO WSC, Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), OHPC and senior management of WSC & OHPC also joined on the occasion.

The Centre will train around 300 youth annually in emerging green-energy domains, including solar PV, rooftop and floating solar, automation, PLC & SCADA, Industrial IoT, energy management, and more.
