Today Commencement Ceremony of 2nd Phase institutional training of 13th Batch CSIs held at the Narasingha Swain Auditorium, BPSPA. Shri Anup Kumar Sahoo, IPS IGP (Training) and Director, BPSPA inagurated the ceremony. 327 CSIs along with staff of BPSPA attended the occasion. In this occasion Director, BPSPA address the CSIs regarding the skill and attitude of police should be enhance to meet demand of public.

02(Two) days Specialized In-service Training Programme on "PCR Act,1955 and SC & ST (PoA) Act,1989 and Rules"was organised by BPSPA from 28.04.2026 to 29.04.2026.There are 30 participants from the rank of SI to Addl.SP from different District and establishment of Odisha attended the trg. Programme. There was total 07 sessions and 6 Guest Faculities of legal acumen delivered their topic in proper manner and the participants nicely interact with them. Smt.Shyni S, IPS ADG trg.attended the training programme as Chief Guest in valedictory Sessions. The trg programme passed successfully with a vote of thanks to the chair.

A 5-day Sponsored Training Programme on Road Safety Management was successfully conducted from 20th April 2026 to 24th April 2026.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 30 officers, ranging from the rank of Sub-Inspector (SI) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), including 4 Additional RTOs.
The training focused on enhancing knowledge and skills related to road safety, accident prevention, and effective traffic enforcement, contributing towards safer roads and better public safety.

Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Bhubaneswar, organized a two-day Specialized Training Course on the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955, along with the relevant Rules, from 16.04.2026 to 17.04.2026.Officers of ranks from Sub-Inspr to Addl.SP across the State actively participated in the programme.
The training was designed to strengthen their understanding of legal provisions, enhance investigative skill and promote sensitivity in handling cases related to atrocity offences, its protection, prevention , Rehabilitation and civil rights violations. This initiative will definitely enhance the professional competencies of Odisha Police officers and enable them to respond more effectively & sensitively in addressing offences against vulnerable sections of society.

The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 9th Batch of DSP Probationers was ceremoniously observed today at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), marking a significant milestone in the professional journey of the young officers. The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble Director General of Police, Odisha, whose presence added dignity and inspiration to the event.
The ceremony, held in a disciplined and vibrant atmosphere, reflected the culmination of rigorous training, dedication, and perseverance demonstrated by the probationers. The ADGP Training and Director, BPSPA, presented the comprehensive course report, highlighting the various facets of training, including physical endurance, legal education, tactical preparedness, leadership development, and community-oriented policing skills imparted during the course.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of senior police officers of the State, retired senior police officials, proud parents, and members of the media, all of whom gathered to celebrate the achievements of the passing-out officers at this Dikshyanta Samaroh. The parade showcased impeccable coordination, discipline, and the high standards maintained by the academy in shaping future leaders of the police force.

The superannuation of Sri Udayabhanu Mishra, OPS(SAG), SP, Training was solemnly observed at BPSPA on his retirement from Government service, marking the conclusion of a distinguished and dedicated career. A five-day sponsored training programme of the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), New Delhi was successfully conducted at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) from 16.03.2026 to 20.03.2026 on the theme of “Women Safety” for Investigating Officers.
A total of 25 participants, ranging in rank from Sub-Inspector to Deputy Superintendent of Police, attended the programme. The training focused on enhancing the professional capacity of police officers in handling cases related to women and children, with special emphasis on proper documentation, adherence to correct legal procedures, and quality investigation practices.
The programme aimed at strengthening investigation standards to ensure higher conviction rates in crimes against women and children, thereby reinforcing the commitment of the police towards ensuring safety, justice, and public trust.

An one day training program on Human Trafficking and Bonded Labour Act was inaugurated by SP Sri U B Mishra, OPS I, SAG, BPSPA. A total of 32 nos of participants attended the training program in collaboration with International Justice Mission (IJM). Eminent resource persons of IJM took the sessions. The training was highly informative and beneficial for the participants.
