Strengthening grassroots farming through science-based practices
Regional Research Centre (RRC), ICAR-CIFA, Rahara and Field Station, Kalyani conducted an Intensive Awareness Campaign under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG) programme at South Chandamari village, Nadia district, West Bengal on 08.05.2026.
The programme focused on the “Adoption of science-based nutrient and other input management”, promoting sustainable agriculture and aquaculture practices among rural farmers. Scientists interacted closely with villagers, sharing insights on efficient input use, soil and water health management, and scientific farming approaches for improved productivity.
A total of 15 farmers (12 male, 3 female) actively participated in the campaign. The session concluded with an interactive discussion where farmers shared field-level challenges and received expert guidance from the scientists of RRC, Rahara.

Creating awareness on science-based nutrient and input management practices at the grassroots level.

Under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG) programme, the Regional Research Centre (RRC), Rahara of ICAR-CIFA organized an Intensive Awareness Campaign in Nadia district on the “Adoption of Science Based Nutrient and other Input Management”.

The programme witnessed active participation from farmers and focused on promoting informed and sustainable agricultural practices through field-level interaction and awareness.

देशभर में किसानों को संतुलित उर्वरक उपयोग के प्रति जागरूक बनाने के लिए ICAR द्वारा चलाया जा रहा विशेष अभियान लगातार नई ऊर्जा के साथ आगे बढ़ रहा है। गाँव-गाँव पहुँचकर वैज्ञानिक, कृषि विशेषज्ञ और कृषि कार्यकर्ता किसानों से सीधे संवाद कर रहे हैं, उनकी समस्याएँ सुन रहे हैं और मिट्टी की सेहत सुधारने के व्यावहारिक उपाय बता रहे हैं।

08 मई 2026 तक इस अभियान के माध्यम से 5.32 लाख से अधिक किसानों तक पहुँच बनाई जा चुकी है। देशभर में 9,026 जागरूकता शिविर, संगोष्ठियाँ, खेत दिवस और एक्सपोज़र विज़िट आयोजित किए गए, जिनमें 4 लाख से अधिक किसानों ने भाग लिया। किसानों को संतुलित उर्वरक उपयोग, जैविक विकल्पों, हरी खाद, बायोफर्टिलाइज़र और मिट्टी परीक्षण के महत्व के बारे में सरल और उपयोगी जानकारी दी जा रही है।

अभियान के अंतर्गत 2,434 प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए, जिनमें 80 हजार से अधिक प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया। वहीं 6,139 प्रदर्शनों के माध्यम से किसानों को खेत स्तर पर वैज्ञानिक तकनीकों का प्रत्यक्ष प्रदर्शन भी कराया गया। सरपंच सम्मेलनों, इनपुट डीलर इंटरफेस, FPOs/SHGs कार्यक्रमों और जनप्रतिनिधियों के सहयोग से यह संदेश समाज के हर स्तर तक पहुँचाया जा रहा है।

रेडियो वार्ताओं, टीवी कार्यक्रमों, सोशल मीडिया और डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म के जरिए भी किसानों तक बड़े स्तर पर जानकारी पहुँचाई जा रही है। अब तक 1.744 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों तक इस अभियान का संदेश पहुँच चुका है।

यह अभियान केवल उर्वरकों के संतुलित उपयोग तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि स्वस्थ मिट्टी, बेहतर उत्पादन, कम लागत, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और टिकाऊ कृषि की दिशा में एक जनआंदोलन बनता जा रहा है।

ICAR का संदेश स्पष्ट है —
“सही मात्रा, सही समय और सही तरीके से उर्वरक उपयोग अपनाएँ, मिट्टी बचाएँ और भविष्य की खेती को मजबूत बनाएँ।”

The session highlighted the importance of biofertilisers, vermicompost, and liquid fertilisers in improving soil health and enhancing crop productivity. Farmers were also guided on sustainable nutrient management practices and informed about the long-term risks of excessive chemical fertiliser use.
