🇮🇳 OPGC Celebrates the 77th Republic Day with Pride and Unity 🇮🇳
Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited marked the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at IB Thermal Power Station. The main celebration was held at Rajiv Gandhi Ground, where Director (Operations) Mr. Anjana Ranjan Dash unfurled the National Flag, followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
The parade featured OPGC security personnel and students from DAV High School and DAV Public School, whose disciplined and synchronized march past added grandeur to the occasion.
In his Republic Day address, Mr. Dash highlighted OPGC’s pivotal role in fuelling the progress of Odisha and contributing to the nation’s energy security. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and reliability in power generation. Reflecting on the milestones achieved over the past year, he appreciated the dedication of employees in maintaining strong performance despite challenges. He also outlined OPGC’s future roadmap, including the expansion of generation capacity with two new units, underscoring the organisation’s vision for growth, sustainability, and continued service to the nation.
The celebration also honoured outstanding performers:
• Mr. Dipak Kumar Mohanty, Executive Operator (Operations) – Employee of the Year
• Mr. Makardhwaj Sa, Executive Operator (Operations) – Best Employee of the Quarter
Preferred associates M/s Govind Constructions, M/s Shilpa Hospitality Services, M/s Mecgale Pneumatic Pvt. Ltd., and M/s Power Construction were recognised for their valuable contributions.
Special Appreciation Awards were presented to children of employees for their achievements in the State Level Pencak Silat Championship and to employees and students who excelled at the 13th All Odisha Khateswar Pandey Memorial Open Swimming Meet 2025 at Sambalpur.
🎶 The cultural segment was a vibrant display of patriotism, with students presenting inspiring songs and dance performances. Young talents who excelled in competitions such as song, art, and speech, were also felicitated.
The celebrations concluded on a note of pride, unity, and shared commitment to nation-building.
Republic Day was also observed at OPGC’s Corporate Headquarters, Bhubaneswar, where Director (Finance) Mr. Gagan Bihari Swain unfurled the National Flag in the presence of officials.

🏑 OPGC Powers Grassroots Hockey in Jharsuguda! 🇮🇳✨
In a strong push towards nurturing future hockey champions, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited(OPGC) has extended a helping hand to the development of field hockey in Jharsuguda district under its CSR initiative.
Acting on a request from the District Hockey Association, Jharsuguda, and following the special recommendation of Hon’ble Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Sri Suresh Pujari, OPGC is supporting 10 school hockey teams by providing complete hockey kits.
👟🏑 What’s being provided?
Hockey sticks, balls, goalkeeper gear, specialised hockey shoes and jerseys for 180 young players from 10 schools across the district.
The initiative was formally flagged off at a special event organised by the District Hockey Association at Pitinda High School, Lakhanpur Block, on 2nd January, where Hon’ble Minister Sri Suresh Pujari personally presented the first lot of hockey gear to two school teams.
Director (Operations), OPGC represented the organisation at the event.
Mr. Jeevan Mohanty, Vice President, District Hockey Association, appreciated the Hon’ble Minister’s commitment to promoting hockey in Jharsuguda and thanked OPGC for its meaningful support.
Addressing students and teachers, the Hon’ble Minister encouraged schools to actively promote hockey, expressing confidence that such grassroots efforts will create future hockey legends of international repute.
