A preparatory meeting regarding the proposed visit of the Working Group for the stakeholder consultation workshop under Basundhara 4.0 was held today on 7th September, 2026 at the Conference Hall of the office of the District Commissioner, Biswanath under the chairmanship of Smti Karabi Saikia Karan, ACS, District Commissioner, Biswanath. In the meeting Sri Ashim Borgohain, ACS, ADC, Biswanath, Sri Champak Deka, ACS, ADC, i/c CO Gohpur, Smti Sunam Das, CO, Biswanath, Smti Jahnabi Sonowal, ALRS, CO, Halem and other officials were also present.

As part of the ongoing 7-Day ASD, Smti Karabi Saikia Karan, ACS, District Commissioner, Biswanath, along with Smti Amrit Prabha Das, ACS, ADC, Biswanath, and Sri Prabhat Pegu, ACS, ADC i/c FPD&CA Branch, Biswanath, visited a Fair Price Shop (FPS) at Sootea, Biswanath, today. During the visit, the officials inspected the functioning of the FPS and reviewed the distribution of essential commodities to beneficiaries.

আজিৰ অনুষ্ঠানটিত গজমিত্ৰ সমিতিৰ বিষয়ববীয়াসকলক বিভিন্ন সহায়ক সামগ্ৰীও বিতৰণ কৰা হয়।

চৰকাৰী সেৱাসমূহ পোনপটীয়াকৈ ৰাইজৰ পদূলিলৈ লৈ যোৱাৰ এই প্ৰচেষ্টাত বিহালীৰ এই শিবিৰত বিপুল সংখ্যক জনসাধাৰণৰ উপস্থিতিয়ে সমগ্ৰ কাৰ্যসূচী সফল কৰি তোলে।

As part of the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyaan, District-Level Speech and Drawing Competitions were organised today, 6th October 2026, at Biswanath College, Biswanath. The competitions witnessed participation from students who were selected through the LAC-level competitions held earlier.

A Division-level meeting on the Human-Wildlife Conflict Risk Reduction Plan was held today on 5th October 2026 at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner, Biswanath. The meeting was attended by Hon’ble MP Shri Ranjit Dutta, Hon’ble MLAs Shri Padma Hazarika (Naduar LAC), Shri Pallab Lochan Das ( Biswanath LAC) Shri Utpal Bora (Gohpur LAC) and Shri Munindra Das (Behali LAC), Smti Karabi Saikia Karan, ACS, District Commissioner, Biswanath, Sri Asif Ahmed, APS, SSP, Biswanath, Sri Ashim Borgohain, ACS, ADC cm CEO, DDMA, representatives of WWF and officials of various line departments.

Sri Champak Deka, DFO, Sonitpur East Forest Division, presented a presentation on the Division-level HWC Risk Reduction Plan. The Hon’ble MP and MLAs provided valuable suggestions and inputs for effective mitigation of human-wildlife conflict. The meeting concluded successfully and the DFO, Sonitpur East Division will place the views and suggestions of the stakeholders before the Zonal-level authority for further necessary action.

A training programme on Trauma Care and Basic Life Support was organised today, 5th October 2026, at the new conference hall of Biswanath Chariali SP Office, Biswanath Chariali, by GNRC Hospitals in association with Assam Police. The programme was attended by Smti Karabi Saikia Karan, ACS, District Commissioner, Biswanath, Sri Asif Ahmed, APS, SSP, Biswanath along with senior police officials and Dr Amrit saikia, Neurosurgeon (Gnrc Dispur), Dr Angshuman Mahanta, Incharge Accident & Emergency (Gnrc Sixmile), Sri Diljit Das, Swasthya Mitra project (Gnrc Ltd), Sri Susmita Neogi, Educator & BLS trainer(Gnrc sixmile), Sri Mamoni Baishya, PRO (Gnrc Ltd). The initiative highlighted the importance of timely intervention and basic life-support skills in saving lives during emergencies.
