Gurpreet Singh from Village Khudda, District Hoshiarpur, started a small jaggery business 10 years ago with a vision to transform a product often wasted into something valuable for every kitchen.
With continuous innovation, he introduced steam-based jaggery processing using SS pans and boilers, leading to the establishment of Khalsa Food Farm. As demand grew, he connected with the District Industries & Commerce Centre and discovered the PMFME scheme.
With the support of PMFME, his business scaled significantly, today achieving a turnover of over ₹2.5 crore and exporting products to countries like USA, Canada, England, and Australia.
The brand now produces 10–12 varieties of jaggery and supplies to well-known names like Five Rivers, Aasnaa, and Markfed.
His journey is a testament to how the right support can take a local product to global markets.

Shivam Mittal from Derabassi, working with Corn Troppers, turned his passion for gourmet popcorn into a growing food enterprise.
Starting in 2019, the journey wasn’t easy, especially during COVID, when opportunities to showcase the product were limited.
That’s when he discovered the PMFME scheme by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. With financial assistance under the scheme, he upgraded his machinery and expanded production.
From producing just one caramel popcorn variant and shipping 200 - 300 cases/month, Corn Troppers now offers 6 exciting flavours and ships 2000 - 2200 boxes/month.

From Profession to Passion 🌾
Mandeep Sharma, a dietician by profession, expanded his journey into millet processing by establishing Raja Ram Food Industry under the brand Mieraa.
After learning about the PMFME scheme through an acquaintance and receiving guidance from his CA, he applied online and received financial assistance under the scheme. With this support, he was able to purchase essential machinery including an oven, mixer, milling machine, and dehumidifier, and successfully set up his processing unit.
Today, the unit manufactures a variety of millet-based products such as cookies, breads, burger and pizza bases, along with different types of millet flour and grains, promoting healthier food choices.
He believes that establishing this unit would not have been possible without the support of the PMFME scheme.
