Chandigarh and the whole world is proud of you ๐
Kafi, a 15-year-old student from Chandigarh's Institute of Blind, has become the CBSE topper of her school in the CBSE 10th result 2023 with an impressive score of 95.20%. However, her journey to reach this milestone has not been easy. Kafi is an acid attack survivor who was attacked by three neighbours when she was just three years old. The attack left Kafi with severe burns on her face and arms, and she lost her eyesight. Despite this, Kafi did not give up and kept fighting to achieve her dreams.
Kafi began studying at Hisar's blind school at the age of eight. She completed her first and second grades there, but her family moved to Chandigarh due to a lack of facilities. In Chandigarh's Secretariat, Kafi's father works as a peon on a contract basis. She was always good at academics and got direct admission to Class 6 in Chandigarh's Institute of Blind in Sector 26.
Kafi aims to become an IAS officer and make her family proud. Her father, Pawan, is proud of her achievements and named her with high hopes. Despite Kafi's challenges and pending appeal against her attackers, she has inspired many.

CTU marching towards being fully electric transport | Good news for Chandigarh People --
The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has pressed all 40 electric buses into service on various routes in the city. To reduce air and noise pollution, the UT Administration has decided to replace its entire fleet of 358 diesel buses of the CTU with electric ones by 2027-28.
In September 2020, the Centre had sanctioned 80 electric buses for the UT under Phase II of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India (FAME India) Scheme. The UT had floated tenders for the procurement of 40 buses in the first phase. Now, the process for procurement of another 40 electric buses has been started. An official said after getting approval from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, the UT Administration has decided to invite bids for the second batch of 40 electric buses.
When it comes to modernization and cleanliness, our Chandigarh always comes on first spot.

Covid cases are increasing on daily basis in Chandigarh, be safe everyone. Read this news today :
The requirement of oxygen (O2) beds by Covid-19 patients has jumped 108 per cent overnight as active cases touched 900 in Chandigarh.
Till yesterday, only 45 patients requiring oxygen support were admitted to government hospitals. Around 23 per cent of the presently available Covid oxygen beds have been occupied in city government hospitals.
As per the contingency plan of the UT Administration, plans are afoot to increase the capacity of Covid beds as the cases increase in the city. However, the requirement predicted for Covid-19 beds in the third wave is lesser than the beds required in the second wave, which crippled the healthcare system across the region.
Stay safe everyone, wear mask and follow social distancing.
