Don’t celebrate too fast when you spot a “piece of cheese” at the bottom of a well.
What you should watch isn’t the bargain — it’s the pulley trap waiting for someone to take the “open spot.” 🧀

A Fox once slipped and fell into a deep well.
Luckily, this well had a pulley system with two buckets:
when one bucket goes down, the other goes up.

The Fox landed in the bucket that was near the top.
His weight dragged it straight down to the bottom.

While he was panicking and figuring out how to escape, a Wolf walked by.
The Wolf peered over the edge and asked:

“Hey Fox… what are you doing down there?”

The Fox thought fast and said:

“Oh, my friend — it’s paradise down here!
I’m eating the best cheese I’ve ever seen. Look!
That moon reflection in the water? It’s a giant block of cheese!” 🌙

The Wolf’s eyes lit up.

“How do I get down there?”

The Fox replied:

“Easy. Jump into the empty bucket up there at the edge.”

The Wolf jumped in.

Because the Wolf was heavier, his bucket sank fast —
and at the same time, it pulled the Fox’s bucket upward.

As the two buckets passed each other in the middle,
the Fox smiled and said:

“That’s the logic of life, my friend.
The world works like a pulley:
for one person to rise… someone else often takes the drop.”

💡 WISE TAKEAWAYS
• The “empty position” rule:
When a great spot suddenly opens and invites you in effortlessly, ask:
Who is being pulled down so you can go up — and why?

• The “free cheese” illusion:
The Wolf chased a reflection (an illusion) and ignored the mechanism.
Real-world logic: what looks brightest at the bottom of a well is often bait.

• Systems don’t care about your hope:
This story isn’t only about deception — it’s about understanding the rules.
If you don’t understand the mechanism, you become the counterweight for someone else’s escape. 🪝

📌 MESSAGE
Life can feel like two buckets on a pulley.
Someone goes up, someone goes down.

So when a “perfect opportunity” appears out of nowhere —
and all it takes is one simple jump — slow down.

Look at the pulley behind it.
Are you stepping into real progress…
or are you just becoming the weight that helps someone else get free?

Understand the rules before you enter the game —
so you never get stuck at the bottom of the well.

In many workplaces, visibility matters as much as performance — sometimes even more.

🐝 The Bee

Works hard.
Produces quietly.
Keeps everything running.
But rarely speaks up, rarely shows their impact.
Result?
Often unnoticed. Often undervalued. Often passed over.

🦚 The Peacock

Shows their work.
Talks about achievements.
Makes sure leaders know what they contribute.
Result?
They get attention, recognition, and opportunities.

Is it fair?

Not always.
But it is the reality in many organizations.

The Lesson:

Hard work is essential.
But visibility is a skill, and a necessary one.

If you’re a “bee,” remember:
You don’t need to become a full peacock —
but you must learn to share your wins, present your work, and make your impact visible.

Because in today’s workplace:
Silent effort helps the company…
Visible effort grows your career.

WHY DO DOGS LIVE SHORTER LIVES THAN HUMANS?

Here’s a surprising answer from a 6-year-old child 💪✍

A friend of mine, a veterinarian, once shared a touching story.

I was called to examine a ten-year-old German Shepherd named Astro. The dog’s owners and their young son were very attached to him and were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Astro and found that he was dying of cancer. I told the family that nothing more could be done and offered to perform the euthanasia at their home.

They agreed—it was the most humane choice, as the dog would otherwise suffer greatly.

As we prepared, the parents told me their six-year-old son wanted to be present during the procedure.

The next day, I felt the familiar lump in my throat as the family gathered around Astro. The little boy was calm as he gently petted the dog one last time before Astro peacefully passed away. 🖤

Afterward, we all sat together in silence, reflecting on why dogs have much shorter lives than humans.

The boy, who had been quietly listening, suddenly spoke:

"I know why."

We all turned to him in surprise. What he said next stunned me—I've never heard a more comforting explanation. 🐕

He said:

“People are born to learn how to live a good life—like loving and being kind, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t need to stay as long as we do.”

If a dog were your teacher, you might learn things like:

🍀 Run to greet your loved ones when they come home.
🍀 Never miss a chance to go for a walk.
🍀 Take naps.
🍀 Stretch before rising.
🍀 Run, play, and have fun daily.
🍀 When it’s enough to growl, don’t bite.
🍀 On warm days, lie on your back in the grass.
🍀 Drink lots of water and relax in the shade.
🍀 When you're happy, dance and wag your whole body.
🍀 Enjoy the simple joy of a long walk.
🍀 Be loyal.
🍀 Never pretend to be someone you’re not.
🍀 If what you want is buried, dig until you find it.
🍀 When someone’s having a bad day, be quiet, sit close, and just be there.

That’s the secret to happiness—straight from a dog’s heart.

This picture teaches us one important lesson. Today you are flying up the sky, tomorrow you will need someone on the ground to carry you. So be humble, love people and invest in people.

LESSONS: And remember no matter how big flying object you are something can carry you that can never fly, don't underestimate people below you, carry them above if you can but don’t push them down.

An illusion.....
The given photo is amazing! It looks like a person reading by sitting in the water. When you zoom in, you realize there is no person, no book, no reading. Everything is an illusion. It's just like life, it looks like it is, but it's not like it is at all. *Live your Life happily.*

# RatanTata

MUST MUST READ.

Ratan Tata ...
In His Own Words !

“I had a happy childhood, but as my brother & I got older, we faced ragging because of our parent’s divorce, which in those days wasn’t as common. My grandmom brought us up.

"Soon after, when my mother remarried, the boys at school started saying all kinds of things about us. But our grandmother taught us to retain dignity at all costs, a value that’s always stayed with me. It involved walking away from these situations instead of fighting back.

"And if it weren’t for grandmom, I wouldn’t be half the person I am today.

"My father and I couldn’t agree on the same thing – I wanted to go to college in the US, he insisted on UK. I wanted to be an architect, he insisted on me becoming an engineer. If it weren’t for my grandmother, I wouldn’t have ended up at Cornell University in the US. It was because of her that even though I enrolled for mechanical engineering, I switched majors & graduated with a degree in architecture. My father was upset, but I was finally my own, independent person in college & it was my grandmother who taught me that courage to speak up can also be soft.

"After college, I landed a job at an architecture firm in LA, where I worked for 2 years. It was a great time – the weather was beautiful & I loved my job. It was in LA that I fell in love & almost got married. But at the same time I’d made the decision to move back, at least temporarily, since grandmom wasn’t keeping too well. So I came back to visit her & thought that the person I wanted to marry would come to India with me, but because of the 1962 Indo-China war her parent’s weren’t okay with her making the move anymore & the relationship fell apart.

"After the move, I did spend some time with my grandmom. I’d run with my dog, catch up with her & we’d have long chats. I’m glad I got that time with her before she passed, because right after I moved to Jamshedpur for an internship at what’s known as Tata Motors now.
It was a waste of time – I was moved from one department to another & since I was a family member, no one told me what to do – I spent 6 months trying to be ‘useful’.

"It was only after I moved to Tata Steel that I got specific work & my job got interesting. I started from the floor & understood the plight of those working there. So years later, when we downsized Tata Steel from 78,000 to 40,000, we ensured to pay them their present day wages until retirement–it’s been in our DNA to serve those who serve us.

"Then, in 1991, JRD stepped down as the Chairman of Tata Industries and then from Tata Sons, there was vicious criticism.
There were other aspirants, who were vocal of him having made the wrong decision. I had been through this before, so I did what I knew best–maintained silence & focused on proving myself.
The criticism was personal–JRD got clubbed with nepotism & I, as the wrong choice. I was under scrutiny, but the time I spent on the floor served as a big plus – I hadn’t gotten there from nowhere!

"All in all, it was a big move. I remember after I was appointed Chairman, I walked with JRD to his office, where he told his secretary that he had to move out. I said, ‘No, J, don’t move out, this is your office for as long as you want.’ He said, ‘Where will you sit?’ I said, ‘Where I’m sitting today–I have an office down the hall & that’s fine.’

"I was lucky to have him there. He was my greatest mentor & the years that he was alive, I used to go into his office & say, ‘J, I wish this had happened 10 years ago, we have such a great relationship.’ He was like a father & a brother to me & not enough’s been said about that.

"Ever since, my life has been for & about growing the company. When I was appointed Chairman, it was believed my surname got me the position, but my focus was on creating something bigger than us all & on giving back, which has been in the TATA DNA since the start.
With Jamshedpur for instance, while our workers were thriving, the surrounding villages were suffering. It became our goal to uplift their quality of life as well … things like these came naturally to us.

"Even with the Nano – I remember seeing a family of 4 on a bike in the heavy Bombay rain—I wanted to do more for these families who were risking their lives for lack of an alternative. By the time we launched the Nano, our costs were higher, but I’d made a promise & we delivered. Looking back, I’m proud of the car & the decision to go ahead with it.

"That’s what my life has been about—work became a lifestyle. I was always at Bombay House or travelling, that’s why even though I came close to marriage with 2-3 different partners, I couldn’t go through with it because they’d have to adjust to my lifestyle & that didn’t sit right with me.

"Now that I’m retired, that lifestyle has changed again. People ask if I’m truly ‘retired’ & to that I say—there’s no doubt about it. I’m enjoying the separation from the company—I don’t look at newspapers & worry about the bad stuff anymore.

"But let me tell you, retirement isn't about playing golf, or reading on a beach, whilst sipping on a cocktail. In fact, never before has the urge to do more, been greater. From affordable cancer treatment, to making the lives in rural India easier—I’m looking forward to making it happen at the Tata Trust. I’m trying to enjoy myself to be honest— I’m spending time with friends —old & new, across age groups, who I’m constantly learning from.

"At 82, I’m still learning, so when you ask me to give advice, I feel like the ‘right advice’ changes over a period of time—but the one thing that remains unchanged is the desire to do the right thing.

"So I’ll say this —leave the advice & do the right thing, even if it isn’t the easiest thing to do. When you look back at your life, that’s what’s going to matter the most. Doing the right thing.”

Have you noticed that a *bronze* medalist is generally *more happy* than a *silver medalist* at the end of the game.

it’s not an incidental finding but a proven fact in many research studies after studying reactions of silver medalists vs bronze medalists!

ideally, a silver medalist should be more happy than the bronze. but, the human mind doesn't work like mathematics.

this happens because of a phenomenon called the *counterfactual thinking*.

the silver medalist thinks, "oh I couldn't win the gold medal." the bronze medalist thinks, "at least I got a medal."

a silver medal is won after losing, but a bronze medal is won after winning.

This happens even in our life, "we don't appreciate what we have but feel sad with what we don't have."
Let's be grateful for our blessings, they far outweigh our problems if we start counting.

Life is after all full of choices, do always count your blessings to stay positive & motivated.
