FUSO has inaugurated its FUSO Tech Centre India (FTCI) in Kanchipuram, further strengthening the global engineering capabilities of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for Ashok Leyland's Greenfield Battery Pack Manufacturing Facility in Kanchipuram District. This project marks the Phase 1 of investment with an committed investment investment of INR 500 crore and is expected to create 200 jobs.
The foundation stone was laid within six months of signing the MoU during the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s official visit to the United Kingdom in September 2025, reflecting Tamil Nadu’s swift conversion of investment commitments into on-ground projects.
This investment further strengthens Tamil Nadu’s growing leadership in electric vehicles, electronics manufacturing, and advanced automotive technologies.

Hirose Electric Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese manufacturer of precision connectors and electronic components, exchanged an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to manufacture connectors and electronic components in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin and Hon’ble Minister for Industries Dr. TRB Rajaa.
Connectors form a critical backbone of modern electronics and automotive systems, enabling reliable power and data transmission across devices, control units, and electronic modules. From smartphones and consumer electronics to electric vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems, and industrial equipment, connectors play an essential role in ensuring seamless integration of complex electronic architectures across the value chain.
With an estimated investment of INR 100 crore and the potential to create 100 jobs, this Phase 1 project will mark Hirose’s first manufacturing facility in India. Globally, the company operates eight factories across Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
This investment will further strengthen Tamil Nadu’s growing electronics and advanced manufacturing ecosystem, while supporting the localisation of critical components for global OEMs and electronics manufacturing services companies operating in the state.
