A Moment of Pride and Purpose!

On 11th December 2024, I reached a significant milestone in my journey as the Founder and Secretary of the Society of Magis. I had the privilege of conducting an awareness program on the POSH Act and Gender Sensitization for the 1st-year MSW students at Loyola College,Chennai - my esteemed alma mater!

Returning to the place that shaped my path, sharing knowledge and empowering young minds, was truly a humbling and fulfilling experience. It felt like coming full circle, giving back to the institution that gave me so much.

This program aimed to create a safe space to discuss critical issues of gender equality, workplace safety, and legal awareness, which are vital for building a more inclusive society.

A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mary Jessi Rani (HOD), Prof. John Paul, Dr. Prof. Vincent, and Prof. Jeevanthi for their trust and encouragement. Your support and guidance mean the world to me!

To the bright and enthusiastic MSW students, your active participation and insightful discussions were truly inspiring. As future change-makers, your dedication to learning and growth motivates me greatly.

Let's continue to create opportunities to inspire, educate, and make a meaningful difference together!

Celebrating International Women’s Day is not just about acknowledging achievements; it’s a call for self-care.

In a world where women often wear multiple hats as caregivers, professionals, homemakers, and community builders, it’s easy to overlook their well-being.

Women's Day reminds every woman deserves self-care.

In association with BellaPremier Happy HygieneCare Pvt. Ltd., Society of Magis organized a two-hour program on Women's Menstrual Health and Hygiene for the women employees in HDB Financial Services and Precision Informatics Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai

The Art Competition was another testament to the extraordinary talent that resides in the students at St. Louis College, who face the world with unwavering determination. This program emerged as a beacon of creativity, where art knows no boundaries. In every stroke and every touch, they remind us that art is not just about seeing; it's about feeling, and it's about embracing the unbounded spirit of inspiration.

Society of Magis organized an engagement program on 17th October 2023 for the students at St. Louis College for the Deaf, the first college for deaf in India and second in Asia. The college was founded in 1993 by Monfort Brothers of St. Gabriel.

The objective of the art competition is to create an inclusive environment that allows the hearing-impaired students to express themselves through art. The theme presented to them was Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. The participation was highly encouraging and mind-blowing. The competition proved to be a celebration of the indomitable human spirit, proving that where there's a will and a passion for creativity, there's an avenue for artistry. The participants inspire us to view the world through different lenses and appreciate the beauty of art in all its forms.

Society of Magis thanks Bro. George, The Secretary and Correspondent, The Principal, The staff Ms. Sathyageetha, The Coordinator and the Sponsors of the event.

Our collaboration with Nippon Paint in their ‘nshakthi’ - CSR initiative aimed at upskilling women as professional wall painters. The sole objective of ‘nshakthi’ program is to make rural women employable and provide them sustainable livelihood.

Advancing through the hiring process is considered to be highly challenging among rural students, but at the same time as freshers, it is important that they position themselves as a strong candidate. In order to enable this, it is essential students learn to create strategies that best demonstrate their eligibility & suitability, elevating them in this highly competitive job market.

Society of Magis organized the program “Move Forward” for the final year undergraduate students of Loyola College, Mettala. The program focused on employability skills and requirements needed for a job.

We thank all the volunteers K.A.Sivakumar, Irudhayaraj Mariya, Naresh Gaddala, Michael Henry, Mercy Gabriel, Heleena Bertram who were instrumental in transforming the students.

We also thank the Management of Loyola College, Mettala for making this possible.
