போக்குவரத்து காவல்துறையினருக்கு மோர் பாக்கெட் வழங்குதல்

கோடை காலத்தில் கடுமையான வெப்பத்தால் பாதிக்கப்படும் சென்னை பெருநகர போக்குவரத்து காவலர்களுக்கு மோர் வழங்கும் திட்டம் 2012 ஆம் ஆண்டு அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் முதல் ஜூன் வரை நான்கு மாதங்களுக்கு போக்குவரத்து காவலர்களுக்கு ஆவின் மோர் பால் பாக்கெட்டுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

சென்னை பெருநகர காவல் ஆணையாளர் திரு.ஆ.அருண்., இ.கா.ப., அவர்களின் அறிவுறுத்தலின் பேரில், கூடுதல் காவல் ஆணையாளர் (போக்குவரத்து) திரு.G. கார்த்திகேயன், இ.கா.ப., அவர்கள் 01.03.2026 அன்று இந்தத் திட்டத்தைத் தொடங்கி வைத்து, கோடை காலத்தை சமாளிக்க போக்குவரத்து காவல்துறையினருக்கு ஆவின் மோர் பாக்கெட்டுகள் மற்றும் பித் தொப்பிகளை (Pith helmet) வழங்கினார். இதற்காக, 120 நாட்களுக்கு மோர் விநியோகிக்க அரசு முப்பத்தைந்து லட்சத்திற்கும் அதிகமாக ஒதுக்கியுள்ளது. ஒவ்வொரு நாளும், காலை மற்றும் மாலை நேரங்களில் 4,500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மோர் பாக்கெட்டுகள் போக்குவரத்து காவல்துறையினருக்கு வழங்கப்படும்.

இத்தொடக்க விழாவில் காவல் இணை ஆணையாளர் போக்குவரத்து (தெற்கு) டாக்டர்.P.விஜயகுமார், இ.கா.ப., காவல் துணை ஆணையாளர் போக்குவரத்து (தெற்கு) திரு.D.குமார் மற்றும் காவல் அதிகாரிகள், ஆளிநர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

GCTP- Distribution of Aavin Buttermilk packets to Traffic Police personnel

The scheme of providing buttermilk to Greater Chennai Traffic Police Personnel who are exposed to extreme heat during the summer season was introduced in the year 2012 and every year Aavin butter milk packets are being provided to traffic police personnel for a period of four months from the month of March to June.

Upon the instruction of Tr.A.Arun,IPS., Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, Tr.G.Karthikeyan,IPS., Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic inaugurated the scheme on 01.03.2026 and distributed Aavin buttermilk packets & pith helmets to the traffic police personnel to overcome this summer season. For this, the Government has allocated more than thirty-five lakhs for the distribution of buttermilk over a period of 120 days. Each day, more than 4,500 Butter milk packets will be provided to traffic police personnel during Morning and Evening.

Dr.P.Vijayakumar,.IPS., Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic (South) and Tr.D.Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (South), and other officers were present during the inauguration.

Greater Chennai Traffic Police conducted a special Road Safety Awareness Programme for women gig workers and delivery partners.

The programme was led by the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic – South). Helmets were distributed to participants, followed by an interactive discussion with representatives of gig workers.

Deputy Commissioners of Police, Traffic also took part and addressed the gathering.
