Tamil Nadu continues to set new benchmarks in logistics and infrastructure-led growth.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru C. Joseph Vijay was today briefed on Tamil Nadu being conferred the prestigious “Exemplar ” award in the LEADS 2025 rankings by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, recognising the State as the top-performing Coastal State in promoting Ease of Logistics.

Senior officials from TIDCO Chairperson, Tmt. Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, IAS, Industries Secretary Thiru. Arun Roy, IAS, Special Secretary Thiru. Mriam Pallavi Baldev, IAS, and TIDCO Managing Director Thiru. Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister at the Secretariat and presented the award received from the Government of India and received his greetings and appreciation.
This recognition reflects Tamil Nadu’s sustained commitment towards building a world-class logistics ecosystem through transformative policy initiatives and strategic infrastructure planning.

Key initiatives driving this achievement include:
• Tamil Nadu State Logistics Policy & Action Plan (2023) with 50 strategic interventions and an investment outlay of ₹62,541 crore
• PM Gati Shakti State Master Plan for integrated multimodal connectivity
• Tamil Nadu Warehousing Policy (2026) to strengthen warehousing infrastructure
• City Logistics Plans for Chennai and Coimbatore
• Advanced tracking and tracing systems for port-bound container cargo movement

Tamil Nadu has consistently remained among the top-performing states in the LEADS rankings over the past three years and has now attained the highest “Exemplar” status in 2025.
This achievement further reinforces Tamil Nadu’s position as one of India’s most progressive and investment-ready logistics hubs.

TIDCO announces its first investments under the TIDCO Startup Investment Policy 2025, marking a key milestone in strengthening Tamil Nadu’s deep-tech and innovation ecosystem.

Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) will invest ₹25 crore each in AgniKul Cosmos and Raptee Energy, two pioneering startups in the space technology and electric mobility sectors.

For over six decades, TIDCO has played a major role in shaping Tamil Nadu’s industrial landscape, partnering in 130+ landmark ventures. As it repositions itself as a venture catalyst, TIDCO is expanding its mandate to support high-potential startups through structured venture investments.

The TIDCO Startup Investment Policy 2025 provides patient capital and institutional support to startups from early-stage innovation to scale and expansion, across sunrise sectors including EVs, renewable energy, aerospace & defence, semiconductors, AI, blockchain, quantum computing, agro-processing and speciality chemicals.

AgniKul Cosmos, a Chennai-based spacetech startup, is building next-generation launch vehicles and 3D-printed rocket engines to enable affordable access to space.

Raptee Energy is developing high-performance electric motorcycles for global markets, combining advanced engineering with sustainable mobility.

The approval letters were handed over by Honourable Industries Minister Dr.T.R.B Rajaa, reaffirming the Government of Tamil Nadu’s commitment under the leadership of Honourable Chief Minister Thiru. MK Stalin—to position the State as a global hub for innovation-led manufacturing and deep-tech entrepreneurship.

Enabling Industry Participation in the Indian Army’s Maintenance & Procurement Ecosystem

TIDCO convened an industry interaction that brought together key stakeholders from Tamil Nadu’s defence and aerospace ecosystem, along with senior leadership from the Indian Army Base Workshops, led by Major General Lalit Kapur, VSM. Around 70 companies from the defence, aerospace, and engineering sectors participated in the session.

This session provided valuable insights into the Army’s maintenance and overhaul ecosystem, defence procurement frameworks such as Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020 and Defence Procurement Manual 2025, and emerging opportunities for industry collaboration in indigenisation, technology upgradation, and advanced manufacturing.

Discussions highlighted:
Emerging opportunities for MSMEs and startups in the precision manufacturing of components
Potential in supplying spare parts for defence equipment
Scope for developing simulators for training and operations
Growth in additive manufacturing
Innovations in drone technologies for defence applications
Challenges related to ensuring high-quality standards
Need for adequate testing and certification infrastructure
Addressing gaps in the supply chain for timely delivery
