Zamindari[edit]
RK Pet (along with Valkanampudi & Chellathur) was under the Zamindari of the Karlapati family headed by the Zamindarini Karlapati Shayamalambha Devi. The Karlapati Family has migrated from the Jaggiahpeta Village and settled down in the Madras Province in the early 19th century and formed the "Apparao Gardens" in Madras. Karlapati Apparao son of Zamindarini Karlapati Shayamalambha Devi and Karlapati Satyanarayana, headed many companies in Madras & Hyderabad which includes the Shyamala Industries Corporation, Subhodaya Publications which used to publish famous news papers such as "The Indian Republic", "Praja Patrika" etc.
The Subhodaya Publications used to be in the MountRoad, where the present V.S.T Motors & K.C.P Sugars Stands today.
The Shyamala Industries Corporation, with the Head Office in Hyderabad used to have multiple companies under it which includes the TANA Shoe Factory, An Earthen Vase manufacturing company etc.
Karlapati Satyendra Kumar, the Eldest Son of the Zamindar Karlapati Apparao headed the "Kumar Cargo Industries" which used to Salvage Ships and run a Boat Building Yard.
The Apparao Gardens was in Multiple Places in Madras, which are "The Apparao Gardens in Choolai", "The Apparao Gardens in Choolaimedu", "The Apparao Gardens in Sembium" with the Street names as "Satyanarayana Street", "Hymavathi Street", "Apparao Gardens 1st Lane" etc.
The Zamindar Karlapati Apparao Family
The Apparao Gardens Choolai is an 18 Acre Land which is centrally located to the old George Town and the Madras Central Station. It is where the Zamindar Karlapati Apparao's family reside, in an 200 Year Old British Bunglow (Used to the old british Arms & Ammunitions House). The Bunglow also houses an Naga Devatha Temple which is even older. The Zamindar Karlapati Apparao Family used to own a Fleet of Cars which include the "Rolls Royce".
The Zamindar Karlapati Apparao had 7 Sons and 5 daughters who now take care of the Family Heritage & Holdings.
The Son's are :-
1. Karlapati Satyendra Kumar, 2. Karlapati Shyama Sundar Rao, 3. Karlapati Vikramarka Chakravarthy, 4. Karlapati Ashoka Chakravarthy, 5. Karlapati Rama Rao, 6. Karlapati Lakshmana Rao, 7. Karlapati Siva Rao
The Daughters are :- 1. Gopu Subhapradha Lakshmi, 2. Bangaru Annapurna Devi, 3. Rummala Shyamala Devi, 4. Julluri Rama Devi, 5. Gondi Bhargavi Devi
Presently the Family is headed by the Current Zamindar Karlapati Satyendra Kumar. He has three sons and a daughter.
The son's are :-
1.Karlapati Satyanarayana. He has two son's, Karlapati Ram Kumarr and Karlapati Prabath Kumar.
2.Karlapati Chandra Gupta Appa Rao. He has two son's, Dr Karlapati Surya Kumar and Karlapati Ratna Kumar.
3.Karlapati parthasarathy Appa Rao. He has a son, Karlapati Srivishnu Kumar.
The Daughter :-
1.Kolluri Usha. She has two son's Kolluri Satya Kumar and Kolluri Madan Kumar.
