Our Micro composting center at Pudupet , Egmore makes green events possible.
We have buckets for rent so plastic bags can be avoided and the segregated waste can be handled and transported with ease.
All the segregated waste that reaches the MCC is weighed and processed.

With every kilo of organic matter diverted from dumpyards , we can save 2.5 kilos of CO2e (carbon emissions).With methane being 25 times more dangerous than carbon , the impact is huge.

What a couple generates in 2 or 3 years is generated in just one event .So it becomes all the more important to focus on bulk waste generation.

We are happy that clients who conduct Green Events take the next step and start their green journey with us with home composting , Bioenzyme making and much more.

Most people give up on composting because of the smell and in recent times people have started associating composting with stench .

ooru we aim to break that misconception through our home composting,community composting and bulk composting systems.

When we actually ‘compost’ it’s a scientific process where we balance the nitrogen,carbon,air and moisture.When this balance is maintained ,there is no smell .

Smell is an indication of missed steps ,missing carbon,not enough aeration ,etc .

Composting is a life skill and the most important climate action in present times with soil degradation and dumpyards growing exponentially.

10 years of understanding, learning , unlearning , relearning , providing solutions for composting from an individual level to community composting and to bulk composting has been an amazing journey.

The meticulous process set up by Mr.Natarajan makes all the difference .

It is our vision to divert all organic matter in cities , towns and villages from the dumpyards and from being burnt to Micro composting centers where they can be converted to nutritious compost and sent back to farms and gardens to nourish the soil .

Daarshinee’s request for a Green Wedding was taken very seriously by her dad and insta reels and recommendations from Mr.Anand ,owner of Sree Amruthaa Palace,Madambakkam (the venue ) led them to Namma Ooru Foundation. @namma.ooru Almost a month of planning was involved to avoid all single-use that cannot be composted or recycled . Only reusables and compostable material were used . A two-day long celebration ,with 6 meals led to the collection of 899 kilos of segregated organic matter and recyclables . The on-site team were given hotel accommodation by the client for 2 days ,so all the kitchen waste could be captured . Bagasse cutlery was used . Minimalistic natural decor and reusable decor were used by the decor team. Green Events involve collaboration between many people,the client,catering team,decor team,mandapam cleaning team and our on-site team and finally the processing team at our Micro composting centre in Pudupet . Kudos again to Gowtham @gowtham.ls8 ,Akash @chiyaan_akash_4444 and team on implementation.Green Events are not possible without your dedication .💚💚 We have to thank the Mandapam team of Sree Amruthaa Palace,Madambakkam for working along with our onsite team .It’s a beautiful place to have your special events .
