Kosapet is the only area in Chennai where the terracotta idols are made. This area is named after the Kulalar community people who moved from area of present high court on request of the government during 1961. Kosapet is 5 km from Chennai Central railway station and the area has a four way connection which runs through the city. Kulalar community people are involved in making the terracotta idols

Hello all. Thanks for all the love.
Just want to apologize for not being responsive. This page was started as a way to build awareness about the potters of Kosapet and their indigenous art forms and the amount of love and likes that it has generated without any kind of promotion, is pretty amazing.
However, I do not stay in Chennai anymore, so I will not be able to answer/ respond to any requests. Please visit the artists in Kosapet for any enquiries and all other dealings and I am sure they will be very happy to oblige you with your requests.
Thank you.
