Power Supply : From BSEB charged on 01.07.2011. Preliminary Acceptance Test of Equipment : Started on 16.06.2011; so far 125 machines have been preliminary accepted. Provisional Acceptance Test of 63 machines have also been completed. Officers Housing : 40 Nos. under construction. Staff quarters : Work has not started. Tender is under acceptance. Kendriya Vidayalaya : For the first time classes have started on 01.07.2011 for the academic year 2011-12. 156 students already enrolled. Environmental Clearances :Environmental clearance has been granted from MOEF in the month of January 2012. Plant Technology : The cast steel manufacturing technology at RWP/Bela is basically the pressure pouring technology, from bottom upwards, using graphite molds. This is a patented technology originally of M/s Griffin (US), now taken over by AMSTEAD Group. A few imported technological inputs have been taken by selecting the latest state of the art machinery and plant and processes, with a view to obtain higher productivity. Some of these machines are Shot Blast Cleaning Machine, Shot Blast Peeing Machine, Sand System Complete, Oxygen Lance Manipulator (part of Electric Arc Furnace), Oxygen Fluorescent Spectrometer, Optical Emission Spectrometer, and Hydrogen De terminator. RWP/Bela Plant is like a process industry and any constraint/breakdown in any of the Sub-systems may result in stoppage of the production. Maintenance of the Plant and equipments needs high degree of skill and expertise, due to a large number of diverse and heavy machinery and plant. An in-depth knowledge about operations and maintenance of various Sub-systems is critical to the optimal utilization of the Plant. Benefits : Will make good the shortfall in requirement of Wheel discs on Indian Railways. Will substitute for import of wheel discs, thereby conserving foreign exchange. The production of wheel discs from this Plant has been incorporated in the current year (10,000 nos.). It seeks to achieve the target capacity of 1 lac wheels by 2015-16. Milestones for Commissioning (i) Preliminary Acceptance Test(PAT) of 125 machines has been completed. (ii) Provisional Acceptance Test (PRAT) of the integrated Plant has been started. (iii)Trial casting of Wheels was successfully done on 23.03.2012 at RWP/Bela. (iv)LPG storage plant was charged on 23.04.2012.
