The District Social Welfare Office and One Stop Centre jointly organised a rally and a sensitization programme on "Anti - Dowry Day - 26.11.2019" with the college students of Hindustan college of Arts and Science Coimbatore . About 300 students participated in the programme. This programme covered topics like - Social Legislation, Child Marriage : its implications and legal procedures and Social Security Schemes of Social Welfare Department.

குழந்தை திருமண தடுப்பு சட்டம், 2006 மாவட்ட சமூக நல அலுவலகத்தின் மூலம் நடைமுறை படுத்தப்பட்டுவருகிறது. 18 வயது பூர்த்தியாகாமல் ஒரு பெண்ணோ மற்றும் 21 வயது நிறைவடையாமல் ஒரு ஆணோ திருமணம் செய்தால் அது குழந்தை திருமணம் என கருதப்படுகிறது. இப்படி ஒரு திருமணம் நடைபெற்றால் இச்சட்டப்படி குற்றமாகும், மீறினால் 2 ஆண்டுகள் சிறைதண்டனை மற்றும் 1 லட்சம் ரூபாய் அபராதம் விதிக்கப்படும்.
கீழ்காணும் புகைப்படத்தில் குழந்தை திருமணம் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வு உள்ளடங்கியுள்ளது.

The Department of Social Welfare implements the "Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006". A boy can get married only after completing 21 years and the girl can get married only after completing 18 years of age. If not, the adult who has partied to the marriage, the families who arranged the marriage and the people who did not report the marriage will get a punishment of 2 years of imprisonment, 1 lakh penalty or both.
