The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, is organizing a Three-Day Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme on the theme “Mindfulness, Emotional Support and Breaking Down Behaviours for Recovery Training” under the National Centre for Drug Abuse Prevention (NCDAP).

This ToT aims to enhance trainers’ capacity in promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and mindfulness to strengthen recovery-oriented practices.

🌟 Successful Completion of the Training of Trainers Program on Alternative Therapies at NISD 🌟 The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, is proud to announce the successful completion of its Three-Day Training of Trainers Program on Alternative Therapies, held from 13th to 15th October 2025 at NISD, Sector-10, Dwarka, New Delhi. Highlights of the program include: ➡️ Expert-led sessions by Dr. Gauri Shankar Kaloiya from NDDTC AIIMS ➡️ In-depth discussions on alternative therapies and evidence-based approaches ➡️ Interactive Q&A and sharing of real-world experiences with participants Congratulations to all participants for their commitment to advancing addiction recovery and supporting a Drug-Free India!

🌟 Successful Completion of the Two-Day Training Program for Outreach Worker-cum-Follow-up Supervisors of DDACs 🌟

The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, successfully concluded its Two-Day Training Program on Project Implementation held from 29th–30th September 2025 at NISD, New Delhi.

The program covered key areas including:
➡️ Understanding substance use disorders, signs, symptoms and community impact
➡️ Client assessment, referral pathways and collaboration with healthcare systems
➡️ Engagement and outreach strategies with effective communication & BCC techniques
➡️ Follow-up support, crisis intervention and case management approaches
➡️ Documentation and record-keeping best practices
➡️ Self-care strategies, burnout prevention and developing outreach plans

Led by eminent resource persons from NDDTC AIIMS and University of Delhi, along with consultants from NCDAP, NISD, the sessions strengthened participants’ skills to enhance community-based interventions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

The training concluded with evaluation, feedback, certificate distribution and a shared resolve to work towards a Drug-Free India.

Praveen Kumar Thind IAS Join Secretary cm Director , NISD, MSJE , Govt of India Inaugurated the One day awareness program on provisions of Transgender person protection of Rights Act 2019 for functionaries of CBOs and NGOs was organised by NISD in collaboration with Vidya Devi Charitable Trust at conference Hall , Jhandewalan Mandhir, New Delhi on 13.09.2025. Dr. R. Giriraj , former Director and Dy. Director (T&B) NISD delivered a spl address during the program.
