केsar - the gurukul way

✨This was long overdue✨Having spread our wings with various collaborations, it was time to reconnect with the founding members of केsar’s team 🤝🏽 We gathered for a session of catching up and planning for our future endeavours. This was followed by impromptu performances by the children 🦋

Reiterating our core values of cleanliness, discipline and safeguarding our environment including animals, we proceeded with inputs from students for the same. They came up with ingenious insights. This was another opportunity to understand how innovative children are 🌏👭🏽

This reunion was made possible by the kind and generous support of Shri Om and Smt Sneh Singhla . Heartfelt gratitude to them from the केsar fraternity 🙏🌻

22nd June 2022 marked the second death anniversary of our guiding light and founder, Dr. Mrs. Saroj Kesar. Her vision and work for the underprivileged children continues to light our path✨
A drawing session was organised for the children to express their ideas on the summer season.
‘गर्मी का मौसम’ was beautifully depicted by the children, a pleasant respite from the sweltering heat Delhi has been experiencing. Their vibrant expression of the summer season spoke volumes about their creativity! 🎨
To reward their efforts each one of them got a colourful T-shirt and some goodies.
Our FURever companions, Buddy and Junior, woofed their way up to the terrace to make our evening extra special 💚🐶💜

Our February 2022 events collection from the archives of केsar ✨

🌧🌲 It was to be another rendezvous with our tribe at the terrace. We had planned a dance workshop. The incessant rain did bring down the soaring degrees but also dampened our plan for the evening. However, it could not ruin our indomitable spirit. We discovered innovative ways to make the best of the time we had and strengthen our connection. Seeking refuge from the pouring skies, Junior (our FURever companion) also joined us.
Chatting over hot home made pasta, we sprinkled a dash of creativity and fun to our evening with an impromptu poetry session. Children recited self composed poems, sang songs and shared personal experiences… It was another opportunity that displayed their unlimited potential. The evening unfolded in a manner we had not planned but which left us fulfilled…

to our Christmas + 2 year anniversary celebrations! 🥳

There were many reasons to smile and celebrate at केsar.
The jingle of the Christmas bells coincides with our anniversary. We turned two that day. An important milestone was reached when we for the first time collaborated with a renowned school of Delhi— Bal Bharti, Pitampura.
Students, teachers and parents visited केsar and contributed generously both materially and in spirit. Our children were gifted school bags and stationery.
The camaraderie shared between the two groups of children was a testament to the ethos of equality— an ideal India strongly stands for. Children shared anecdotes from their experiences along with interesting riddles and self composed poems. The grand finale of the occasion was an impromptu dance session which was joined by all children, teachers, and parents.
Cheers to many more moments of togetherness. 🎄

Work and play go hand in hand. Along with our English conversation class, this month
we also organised the collective birthday celebrations of our three members - Priyanshi, Nikki, and Junior. 🎂🎉
One of our core values is to appreciate a world besides human. Junior is a street dog that we have adopted. His genial and affectionate disposition has won many hearts. Basking in the warmth of the sun right in the middle of the road or joining people chatting on the street, Junior never fails to make his presence felt. He has impeccable credentials when it comes to guarding the street. One knows that there is an outsider— maybe a delivery boy or such— when one hears Junior barking incessantly. Kids at केsar share a deep bond with him. 🐶💚
The severely cold day ended on a warm note- all thanks to the jackets gifted by Shri and Smt Om Singla for the kids. 🙏🏽

Nothing could match the radiance of Diwali diyas 🪔 except the cheerful countenances of our tribe at केsar.

Amidst lush plants, we together enjoyed the early winter sunshine. Giving expression to their creative instincts, the children made rangolis with vibrant colours. 🎨

In an effort to further brighten up the Festival of Lights for our children, boxes of sweets and new clothes were gifted to them. 👕🍬👚

Joining us in all our activities was our FURever friend— Buddy, who was the show stopper of the day. He got along with the kids like a house on fire. It was indeed a day that brought ineffable joy. 👭🏽🐶👬🏽

Once again Shri and Smt Om Singla sponsored this activity, showering their affection and blessings on our kids. We are ever grateful to them. 🙏🏽✨

“Unity is strength”
Nothing can be more apt to describe the collaboration between केsar, Vidhya Mohan Trust and Gyaan Mandir. We made an attempt to sensitise the slum children of Pambaari Road about the significance of health and hygiene.
The lessons learnt from our struggle with Corona were reiterated. How washing the hands frequently plays a significant role in keeping diseases at bay and how keeping our surroundings clean is inextricably linked to good health were some of the issues we discussed.
To support this endeavour children were given a kit containing toothpaste, brush , soap and oil.
