Intense & Interesting Weather ahead for Northern India (4-8 October) ⚠️

•A Western Disturbance of nearly 10/10 intensity to bring round of Intense weather for almost all of North India. This system is unusually strong as per Early October standards.

•Plains: This system will bring on/off atleast 3/4 Scattered-Widespread Moderate to Heavy rains with isolated along with strong gusty winds in range of 30-55km/h and loud lightning strikes in various parts of , , , , , , N-E/NE-C , , , , and adjoining parts of and MadhyaPradesh from 5th to 7th October.

•Hills: There will be Moderate to Heavy snowfall in mid and higher reaches of , , , , , areas of and adjoining Himalayan range. The lower reaches to get Heavy Rains with Hailstorm and isolated snowfall between late night of 4th October into Early 8th October.

•Day time temperatures to fall drastically from tomorrow and there will be a Early Winter Chill and a cool autumn ahead. (22-29°C range)

•Night time temps will fall to range of 16-21°C from 8th October across North India.

•This spell poses high risk of crop damage due to hail, heavy rains and strong winds.

The Well Marked Low Pressure area has moved from Bay of Bengal into Arabian sea in less than 29 hours, it has rapidly transited over South-Central India into Western India and now its slowly moving and likely to remain almost stationary. This system will continue to bring some scattered showers in parts of , SW/W Rajasthan and coastal for next 2 days.

SouthWest 2025 outlook in a glance:
•The Southwest Monsoon 2025 is expected to be above normal, ending 107% of long period average (+/-2%)
•SWM’25 will start on a rapid and intense note and will progress northward pretty quickly and will make onset over Kerala on 22nd of May(+/-2 Days) and this initial surge will bring excessive rains in South and SW and Coastal SW India. (in case of cyclone formation-Kerala may not see heavy onset rains)
•Northern India will see above normal rains except a few parts.
-Himalayas, NW, W, SW, S and SC India will get above normal rains this year.
-Onset over North India will occur between 20-28th June which is normal
-Onset Upto Himachal Pradesh will be slightly Early
•SWM will head into a short break phase in Early June and will revive by Mid June before progressing into Northern India.

Overall: SWM will arrive in First Half of the country earlier than expected and On time in the remaining Half

Isolated thunderstorms are developing over North and rapid intense thunderstorm development is taking place along the foothills of and . This cluster of ts will bring moderate to intense rains with with gusty winds upto 50-90km/h in , , , and areas of in next 4 hours.

A westward moving outflow boundary will trigger isolated storm development over , , , which will bring duststorm b/w 30-60km/h along with some light-mod isolated rains w/ thunder in these areas & parts of by tonight

High intensity thundercells are forming over the westerly trough & local convergence over parts of , N & C , to intensify into intense Nor’wester spells. These will bring episode of moderate to intense rain along with , continuous lightning & power strike followed by gusty winds upto 50-100KM/h in SE , , , E , , , , , , , in next 3 hours

•These cells will expand and maintain their intensity as they move eastward. Similar spells are expected to occur in , , , , , , , and adjoining places by 6-8 PM

A slightly active Western Disturbance has started to affect Northern India with system magnitude of 6/10, the is expected to bring some isolated light-mod rains and cloud cover in parts of , N , , , S-W , , Parts of Aravalli belt, Foothills of Punjab & NW UP and if upward lifting enhances more then a few parts of might also get some drizzles between 24-26th March

•There is a limited available moisture content in the atmosphere however the upper level trough has a slight dip till Jodhpur and heat will add up to the development along with the help of surface convergence at few spots
