To infuse soul into this year’s theme of World Environment Day, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher, Judge, Delhi High Court and Chairman, Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee planted saplings within the premises of the Delhi High Court.

Mr. Arul Varma, Addl. District & Sessions Judge and Secretary, DHCLSC also accompanied Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher in this initiative and planted the saplings.

Mr. Shyam Singh and Mr. Girish Chandra, staff members of DHCLSC also became part of this green drive.

DHCLSC INITIATES STEPS IN FOSTERING INCLUSIVITY FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED ADVOCATES.

On 24th April, 2024, the Delhi High Court Women Lawyers Forum organized its Vth Coffee Chat on the topic-“Fostering Inclusivity For Lawyers With Disabilities.”

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher, Judge, Delhi High Court and Hon’ble Chairman Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee was invited as a speaker for the event.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher’s vision has been transformed into reality as DHCLSC has empaneled three differently-abled advocates (visually impaired) namely-Mr. S.K. Rungta, Senior Advocate, Mr. Aman Jain and Mr. Rahul Sunil Bajaj on its Pro-Bono Panel of lawyers. Also, Mr. Arvind , a differently abled young advocate with cerebral palsy, commenced his apprenticeship with DHCLSC recently.

And the best player won!

DHCLSC extends its heartiest wishes to Ms. Shamshravish Rein, Advocate for becoming a winner under the Women Singles Category (Below 40 Yrs). Ms. Anushkaa Arora, Advocate gave a tough match and occupied the Runner's Up position.

Also, bringing to our followers, a glimpse of the matches which are proceeding at a net breaking speed so far with the zeal of our participants.

Glimpses from semi final match under Women's Singles Above 40 Years category played between Ms. Sujata Kohli, District & Sessions Judge (Retired) and Ms. Monisha Handa, Advocate.

The sportsmanship of Ms. Sujata Kohli is commendable as despite a minute injury sustained during the match, she continued to play with the same energy and kept the spirit of the game high.

A look into matches played under Men's category in singles & doubles by empaneled advocates in 40 yrs and above 40 yrs age category.

The sportsman spirit of participants during and post the matches was appreciable.

Needless to say, the competitive spirits of all the participants added a dose of curiosity and excitement to the match.

To boost the Sports Quotient (SQ) of its empanelled advocates, Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee kick started its 1st DHCLSC Badminton Tournament on 15.04.2024.

Various matches have been scheduled for empanelled advocates under different categories like Men’s Singles/Doubles and Women’s Singles. The Committee is gearing up for an epic finale in May, 2024.

On 09.04.2024, the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee (DHCLSC) organized a Capacity Building Program for its empanelled advocates on the topic- “Appreciation of Electronic Evidence.”
The session was conducted by Mr. Siddharth Aggarwal, Senior Advocate who has been actively practicing before all tiers of judiciary for over 25 years. Mr. Aggarwal essentially focused on Section-65A & Section-65B of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 and took aid from various case laws and examples from legal field to impart knowledge to the audience on the session’s topic. The session concluded with advocates posing their questions to Mr. Siddharth Aggarwal and sharing the issues which they frequently face during trial before courts.

On 06.01.2024, DHCLSC organized Capacity Building Programme for its panel advocates for their professional development.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher, Chairman, DHCLSC / Judge High Court of Delhi graced the programme and motivated the participants with his words of wisdom.

The resource person for 1st Session on the topic “Understanding Digital Forensics With Special Emphasis on DNA Profiling - Its Corroborative Value & Effect of Discrepancies” was Ms. Shreya Rastogi, Founding Member and Director Forensics and Death Penalty Litigation, Project 39A, NLU, Delhi.

The resource persons for other session on topic “Decoding Sign Language Interpretation” were Mr. A. S. Narayanan (President) & Ms. Geeta Sharma (Vice President) of National Association of Deaf and Ms. Sanchita Ain, AOR, Supreme Court of India.

Under the project of DHCLSC i.e. "Kanooni Saksharta - Sabka Adhikar, on 01.12.2023 a session was delivered by Mr. Rohan J. Alva, Ld.
