राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग के माननीय सदस्य श्री लवकुश कुमार ने जिला बिजनौर के विभिन्न गांवों पितनहेड़ी, मानपुर, रामपुर, धनौरी, गाजीपुर हिदायत एवं आलमपुर का दौरा किया। इस दौरान माननीय सदस्य ने गांवों के अनुसूचित जाति के लोगों के साथ बैठक की, जिसमें जिला प्रशासन के अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहे।माननीय सदस्य ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि केंद्र सरकार एवं राज्य सरकार द्वारा अनुसूचित जाति के लिए चलाई जा रही कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के बारे में जागरूकता शिविरों तथा अन्य माध्यमों द्वारा अनुसूचित जाति के लोगों को जानकारी दी जाए। उन्होंने अनुसूचित जाति के उत्पीड़न संबंधी मामलों में पुलिस विभाग के अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि उचित कार्यवाही कर ऐसे मामलों का समाधान किया जाए, जिससे अनुसूचित जाति के लोगों को न्याय मिल सके।

Hon’ble Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), Dr. Partha Biswas, visited IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and conducted a review meeting. During the visit, under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Member Dr. Partha Biswas, NCSC interacted with teachers, non-teaching staff, and students, and reviewed reservation policies, facilities, and welfare measures for SC employees and students. राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग (NCSC) के माननीय अध्यक्ष श्री किशोर मकवाना ने आईआईटी बॉम्बे के अनुसूचित जाति के छात्र श्री साहिल वाकोडे की मृत्यु के मामले में 24 सितंबर 2026 को विस्तृत स्थल जांच की।

माननीय अध्यक्ष ने आईआईटी बॉम्बे के निदेशक, उप निदेशक, कुलसचिव, संबंधित संकाय सदस्यों एवं अन्य अधिकारियों के साथ विस्तृत जांच की तथा छात्र की मृत्यु से पूर्व की घटनाओं और परिवार द्वारा लगाए गए आरोपों के संबंध में जानकारी प्राप्त की। उन्होंने संबंधित विभाग, उस कक्षा/परीक्षा कक्ष जहां शैक्षणिक कदाचार की कथित घटना हुई थी तथा छात्रावास एवं मृतक छात्र के कमरे का भी निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने साहिल के सहपाठियों एवं साथी छात्रों से बातचीत कर घटनाक्रम एवं उसके शैक्षणिक और परिसर संबंधी अनुभवों को समझने का प्रयास किया।

इसके पश्चात माननीय अध्यक्ष ने पुलिस महानिदेशक, पुलिस आयुक्त तथा अपराध शाखा की जांच टीम सहित वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारियों के साथ उच्चस्तरीय बैठक कर जांच की प्रगति की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने मामले की निष्पक्ष, तटस्थ, व्यापक एवं त्वरित जांच सुनिश्चित करने तथा विस्तृत कार्रवाई/जांच रिपोर्ट यथाशीघ्र आयोग को प्रस्तुत करने के निर्देश दिए।

माननीय अध्यक्ष ने मृतक छात्र के माता-पिता एवं परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों से भी मुलाकात की, उनकी शिकायतों और चिंताओं को विस्तार से सुना तथा उनकी लिखित शिकायत प्राप्त की। उन्होंने परिवार को आश्वस्त किया कि आयोग अपने संवैधानिक अधिदेश के अंतर्गत मामले की गंभीरता से निगरानी करेगा और उचित कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाएगा।

इस दौरान माननीय अध्यक्ष के साथ डॉ. सुनील कुमार बाबू, निदेशक, एनसीएससी राज्य कार्यालय, महाराष्ट्र; डॉ. आर. स्टालिन, उप निदेशक, एपीसीआर प्रभाग, एनसीएससी मुख्यालय, नई दिल्ली तथा एनसीएससी राज्य कार्यालय के कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।
