USAID's South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), in partnership with Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PuVVNL), hosted a stakeholder consultation under the Ministry of Power’s Smart Distribution initiative. The session was chaired by Shri Shashank Misra, Joint Secretary (Distribution), Ministry of Power, and focused on exploring scalable and sustainable business models for large-scale Demand Response (DR) implementation in India.

The workshop saw active participation from key stakeholders, including PuVVNL, UPERC, CEA, REC, technology providers, and industry experts. Discussions centered on collaborative frameworks, economic viability, and technology-driven solutions to optimize and enhance grid reliability.

This engaging dialogue highlighted the transformative potential of aggregator-based DR systems to revolutionize India’s power distribution network, making it more resilient, efficient, and renewable-friendly.

👏 Thanks to Shri Shashank Misra, Joint Secretary (Distribution), Ministry of Power, Shri Shambhu Kumar, MD PuVVNL, and all participants for shaping a smarter, more sustainable energy future!
