“PRARAMBH–2026”, an Outreach Event on the New Income-tax Act, 2025 & Income-tax Rules, 2026, was organised by the Income Tax Department, CCIT (International Taxation & Transfer Pricing), West Zone, Mumbai, under the theme “Bridging Borders, Building Trust.”

CBDT Member (Legislation) Shri Prasenjit Singh graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Pr. CCIT (International Taxation), New Delhi, Ms. Monica Bhatia attended as Guest of Honour.

The event featured technical sessions, panel discussions, stakeholder interactions, and a demo of ‘Kar Saathi’—the Department’s new AI-powered taxpayer assistance chatbot—focusing on International Taxation & Transfer Pricing under the new legislative framework.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from trade and industry and was widely appreciated for its practical and interactive approach towards stakeholder engagement and taxpayer awareness.

The Income Tax Department (Bihar & Jharkhand Region) organised a Mega Outreach Programme on the New Income Tax Act, 2025 at Patna under the guidance of Dr. D. Sudhakara Rao, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bihar & Jharkhand Region.

The programme was conducted in the august presence of Padma Shri Awardee Smt. Sudha Varghese, Shri Bhim Singh Bhavesh, Dr. Vijay Prakash, CCIT (Retd.) Shri Ashok Kumar Jha, Shri Kalika Singh, DGIT(Inv.), Patna, Shri Rajesh Kumar Jha, CCIT, Ranchi and Shri K.L. Kanak, CIT (Admin & TPS), Patna, along with other senior officers and officials of the Department.

The event served as an important platform for interaction among tax administrators, academicians, doctors, industry representatives, business associations and tax professionals to spread awareness about the key provisions of the new Income Tax Act, 2025 and gather stakeholder feedback.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. D. Sudhakara Rao emphasized transparent governance, faceless and technology-driven administration, simplified legal provisions and taxpayer-centric reforms aimed at ensuring smoother compliance and building trust between taxpayers and the Department.

Speakers highlighted the importance of tax participation, financial awareness and voluntary compliance for nation-building, while technical sessions focused on simplified provisions, reduced litigation, digital processes and ease of compliance under the new Act.
