The draft of electric vehicle policy 2.0 is likely to be announced soon by the Delhi government.
According to the proposed policy, the government recommends transitioning public transport buses operated by DTC and DIMTS to electric buses.
It is also suggested that registration of CNG autorickshaws be halted from August 15, 2025, and all such permits will be substituted or re-issued exclusively as e-auto permits.

City Logistics Plan for Delhi
DIMTS is proud to have prepared the City Logistics Plan (CLP) for Delhi, a key initiative under the National Logistics Policy (NLP).
Our work introduced innovative approaches to freight planning, including the use of e-way bill transactions as data sources. This pioneering method strengthened the assessment of freight travel patterns, enabling a deeper understanding of urban logistics in Delhi.
Developed in collaboration with DPIIT and supported by GIZ’s Green Freight Project, the CLP aims to enhance freight efficiency, reduce congestion, and promote sustainability. As the plan progresses towards implementation, we are excited to see its impact on Delhi’s logistics landscape.

India aims to enhance public transport reliability with an ITMS under the PM-E bus Sewa scheme, addressing bus tracking and efficiency issues.
Across India, city residents who travel by public transport all share a common trepidation — whether the bus they want to catch has already left the bus stop. This anxiety comes from a lack of infrastructure in place to track the movement of buses on city streets, making the commute unreliable and unattractive.

The Transport Department, GNCTD has introduced the Delhi Transport Stack, a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to enable next generation mobility, seamlessly integrate services, and facilitate the evolution of future mobility solutions. Transport Stack leverages standard data exchange protocols and the Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) framework to facilitate seamless data interoperability through well-defined data standards across the transport ecosystem. This creates a multimodal network that benefits citizens, transport operators, businesses, and government bodies alike.
One of the objectives of the Delhi Transport Stack, is to enable innovation in mobility through integration of transit data and services of various modes (Bus, Metro, Regional service, etc). As part of this, an Innovation Challenge is launched on the Transport Stack web portal. Spread across ten pertinent themes, the Transport Stack Open Innovation Challenge provides start-ups, students, and researchers an excellent opportunity to address key mobility challenges by proposing innovative solutions and turning them into a functional prototype. The key areas encompassed are AI-driven smart mobility, last mile connectivity, transit safety, smart traffic management, micro-mobility optimization and sustainable urban commute. DIMTS is proud to be a PoC partner for the innovation challenge.
This challenge gives an option to demonstrate one’s expertise to make a difference to the transportation sector. It also provides an opportunity to hone one’s idea basis a proof-of-concept implementation in Delhi Transport Ecosystem.
