ہندستان کے ایک بزرگ عالم عرصہ سے مدینہ میں مقیم تھے۔ وہ کچھ دنوں کے لئے دہلی آئے تو ہندستان کے مختلف مقامات سے لوگ ان کی زیارت کے لئے ٹوٹ پڑے۔ ان میں سے ایک صاحب سے میری ملاقات ہوئی۔ میں نے کہا کہ بزرگ کی زیارت کے لئے آپ لوگ دور دور سے چلے آرہے ہیں ۔ کیا آپ نے کبھی درخت کی پتی کی بھی زیارت کی۔ کیا آپ نے کائنات میں خدائی نشانیوں کو دیکھنے کے لئے بھی کوئی سفر کیا۔ انھوں نے میرے الفاظ کو اس طرح سنا جیسے کہ میں کسی نامعلوم زبان میں بول رہا ہوں۔ کیسے عجیب ہیں وہ لوگ جو مخلوق کی عظمتوں میں گم ہوں مگر خالق کی عظمتوں کی انھیں کوئی خبر نہ ہو۔
