NSTFDC Celebrates 25th Foundation Day at the National capital with tribal budding entrepreneurs from across the country and reaffirms it's commitment towards tribal empowerment
The 25th Foundation Day of the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation was graced by Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs; Smt. Ranjana Chopra , Secretary MoTA; Shri Anant Prakash Pandey, Joint Secretary; and Shri Bhaskar Choradia, Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor; Shri T. Roumuan Paite, CMD, NSTFDC, along with former CMDs of the Corporation and other representative from State Channelizing agency from across the States.
Addressing the gathering, Shri T. Roumuan Paite, CMD NSTFDC described the occasion as not merely a celebration, but a moment of reflection and renewed commitment towards serving the target groups. Highlighting NSTFDC’s sustained impact, he shared that over 16.80 lakh loans have been extended to Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries, with a total disbursement exceeding ₹4,400 crore to date. He further noted that NSTFDC has consistently recorded an annual profit in the range of ₹20–30 crore, reflecting a robust and sustainable model.
Reaffirming the organisation’s mission, he emphasized NSTFDC’s continued focus on empowering tribal communities through accessible finance, enterprise support, and livelihood generation.
In his address, Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jual Oram highlighted the transformative impact of NSTFDC over the years. Emphasizing its people-centric approach, he underscored the Corporation’s focus on providing collateral-free financial assistance to ensure wider access among tribal beneficiaries. He reiterated that NSTFDC’s vision extends beyond job creation to fostering sustainable livelihoods, enabling individuals to become job providers rather than job seekers.
The Hon’ble Minister further emphasized that the loans provided by NSTFDC have been life-changing for beneficiaries, fostering a strong sense of responsibility and financial discipline among recipients. This, he noted, has resulted in timely repayments and a very low incidence of Non-Performing Assets (NPAs). Calling the occasion a moment of pride, he expressed confidence in NSTFDC’s continued journey towards strengthening tribal communities and achieving greater milestones in the years ahead.
As part of the celebrations, and in alignment with its mandate, NSTFDC felicitated Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs from across the country who have successfully established business ventures and are generating sustainable livelihoods. These entrepreneurs, representing diverse tribal communities, are engaged in a wide range of enterprises, including traditional cuisine restaurants, dental clinics, poultry and dairy farming, beauty parlours, photocopy centres, handicrafts, jewellery, saree businesses, pisciculture, crab culture, tailoring units, and general stores. Various programs were performed representing tribal communities culture and diversity.
The event underscored NSTFDC’s enduring commitment to inclusive growth and tribal empowerment.

Twenty-five years ago, a vision was transformed into reality with inception of NSTFDC, born to empower the heartbeat of India—our tribal communities.
It was not about providing them basic entitlements but to making them participate to contribute in the national economy, to create sustainable livelihood for themselves and generate income from their own units.
Today, the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) proudly celebrates its 25th Foundation Day!
From providing concessional financial assistance to fostering entrepreneurship and skill development, our journey since 2001 has been defined by the resilience and participation of the tribal communities across India.
