"The Department of Business Economics at the University of Delhi marked the occasion with the successful conclusion of the Donation Drive organized by Roots, the Department's social service organization, in collaboration with Goonj.

The campaign began on August 29 and wrapped on September 2. With your support, we were able to donate more than three crates of clothing, one hundred packages of cookies, six hundred and fifty sanitary napkins, twenty-five kilograms of moong daal, twenty-five kilograms of rice, and two hundred pieces of candy. It could only be possible because of the hard work of Team Root and your support.

Our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude as we reflect on the overwhelming support we received during our recent donation drive. Your kindness knows no bounds, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this event a resounding success. One act of kindness at a time, we're changing lives and making the world a better place."

August 26, 2023, marked the beginning of the esteemed "A Day with Alum" conducted by the Alumni Relations and Cultural Committee of the Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi’. The Department was graced with the presence of Mr. Dev Budhiraja (Deputy Vice President, HDFC Bank and an alumnus of 2009 Batch), who enlightened us over the topic "Potential Impact of Fundamentals of Credit Risk".

Mr. Budhiraja talked about Credit Appraisals, the synergies underlying the merger of HDFC Ltd. with HDFC Bank, the parameters to be considered to judge the credit appraisal, customer potential and credit risk. Mr. Budhiraja then discussed the importance of managing cash flows. He also discussed the situation of pandemic and other economic crisis and how the banking sector was impacted in all these.

The session was full of Q&A and interactions in which the students actively took part to gain knowledge and strengthen their understanding of the topic discussed.

The Department of Business Economics at the University of Delhi recently organized the event 'Genesis 2023' on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The spectacular event marked the start of an exciting academic journey ahead for the new session.

Ananya Dastidar Mam, HOD, faculty, and the acclaimed speaker, Anurabh Dey, lit the candle to begin the occasion. Ananya mam then offered a nice welcome speech.Followed by an engaging welcoming speech by Ananya mam.

The event was marked by the speaker session by Arunabh Dey (Vice President at Bank of America) who gave an informative and interactive session on the topic 'Thriving in the Corporate Odyssey'. He mentioned 7 attributes that an MBA student must have, which include patience, teamwork, and networking, among other things.

Post the informative session, We have the much-awaited panel discussion on the topic 'Mastering the MBA Journey: Key to Success ' amongst our prestigious alumni, Nishkam Verma, Swati Mahajan, Vikas Khanna, Shivangi Kochar, Monalisa Mandal, and Moderator Salil Garga. It was an informative and enlightening event, discussing the general fears an MBA student has and how to make the most of the years in a business school.

Afterwards, we had a fun treasure hunt event, reestablishing our connections with our peers and enhancing our Team work skills.

ConsultBE- The consulting club of MBA (Business Economics) and E- cell of MBA (Finance) of Department of Finance and Business Economics, University of Delhi made the occasion of entrepreneurship day 2023 graced by organizing the first edition of "Trailblazers' Triumph" - The entrepreneurship quiz.

The event witnessed the overwhelming registrations of 26 teams having 4 members in each. The quiz started with the encouraging words delivered by our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Ananya Ghosh Dasitdar, followed by Prof. Saurabh sir regarding the importance of entrepreneurship, innovations nurturing talents in youth and the upcomings of university of Delhi on entrepreneurial activities of it's students.

The quiz had 4 rounds including an MCQ, logo identification, brand recognition and a rapid fire. The are proud to announce the winning team and runner ups of the quiz:

The Department is excited to have Mr. Gaurav Singh as the keynote speaker of the very first Philomathes over the topic “Potential Impact of Automation, Remote Work Changing Job Roles”.

Mr.Gaurav Singh is the Director Consumer Insights at NielsenIQ. Mr. Singh has served as Managing Director at Nielsen for Sri Lanka and country manager at Nepal. He has also worked as project manager at Gujarat Ecology Commission and at Saline Area Vitalization Enterprise.

The Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi feels immense pleasure to share the glimpse of orientation session of the Batch, 2023-25 to introduce the upcoming students with their most awaited MBA Journey with us which they achieved after a long process from CAT to Final selections.

The orientation session was started by our Head of Department, Mrs. Ananya Ghosh Dastidar with her welcome note and the academic and extracurricular activities structure of the department. Other faculty members also made the occasion marked with their words of encouragement. Various clubs and committees also introduced themselves and solved the queries of the upcoming batch regarding their work and how they are going to help them in shaping their future. The Training and Placement committee of the department also organized guess estimates, Group discussion and interview sessions with the batch 2025.

We, at the Department, cordially welcome all the students of batch 2025 and congratulate them for making it into one of the coveted B Schools of the country. May this journey deliver whatever you thought and hoped before joining.

The Training & Placement Committee of Department of Finance & Business Economics Delhi University organized several learning cm ice-breaking sessions for the Batch 2025. The 2025 Batch students were asked to introduce themselves and then they were further split into groups and each group was assigned with a mentor from the senior batch.
In the sessions, the students were introduced to the topics of:
1. Guesstimates
2. Case Studies
3. Elevator Pitch
Apart from these technical attributes , they learn the art of team-work and communication with the peers.

The Training and Placement cell of the Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi is all set to host Ms. Monica Dutta as our guest speaker in the speaker session to be held on April 11, 2023. Ms. Monica is currently working as senior manager of Data and Insights at Microsave Consulting and holds a vast experience in research and economics. Ms Dutta has worked with various international firms, such as The Energy and Research Institute (TERI), India Development Foundation (IDF), Center of WTO Studies at IIFT, the National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Ms. Dutta holds expertise in the areas of development, agriculture, energy economics, impact assessment, demand forecasting, programme design and evaluation. She specializes in undertaking modelling exercises and projections.
