Ministry of MSME, within the framework of BRICS PartNIR track, successfully convened 1st SME Working Group Meeting on the topic Enhancing Access to Finance. Discussions revolved around bridging MSME credit gap and strengthening fintech driven ecosystem for MSMEs across BRICS member countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 20th April 2026 between the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Republic of Korea, during the visit of H.E. Lee Jae Myung, President, Republic of Korea. The MoU aims to enhance cooperation through exchange of information and experts, business matching, technical and economic cooperation to boost trade and investment in the MSME sector.

Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME; Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE); Shri Manoj Muttathil Ayyappan, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services; Ms. Vandita Kaul, Secretary, Department of Posts; Shri Bharat Khera, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Ministry of MSME; and Shri Manoj Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director, SIDBI.
The session highlighted collaborative efforts towards empowering artisans and strengthening the ecosystem under PM Vishwakarma.

The Breakaway Session on “Sustainable Livelihood through PM Vishwakarma” commenced with an insightful presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme by Dr. Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, who provided an overview of the scheme’s vision, implementation framework, transformative potential, benefits, components, skill upgradation, and market linkages, while highlighting its whole-of-government approach and inviting panelists to share their perspectives.

On the occasion of 18th Civil Services Day, a Breakaway Session on “Sustainable Livelihood through PM Vishwakarma” was organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) today at Vigyan Bhawan.
The session brought together senior officials and domain experts to review the implementation progress and impact of the scheme aimed at empowering traditional artisans and craftspeople across the country.
