In October, The New York Times reported Kent had obtained access to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's files on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, alarming the bureau's director, Kash Patel.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Kent had been sidelined from the team responsible for producing and delivering the President's Daily Brief in the final months of his tenure.

According to Semafor, Kent had been facing an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for allegedly leaking classified information. The inquiry began several months prior to his resignation.

Delhi, once known as Indraprastha, came into prominence during the Mahabharata. In the medieval ages, when the Delhi Sultanate was established, Delhi became its capital. This was because the invaders who set up the Sultanate had come in from the North-West. The Mughals who came thereafter continued with Delhi as the capital and ruled from here, only alternating with Agra, a city close by.

In the modern era, Delhi was re-established as the capital of India in 1911. The British were ruling from Kolkata (Calcutta) ever since they rose to power in India, till continual unrest there (related to the partition of Bengal in 1905) and revolutionary activities forced them to move to Delhi. The British chose Delhi because they averred that this place, as capital, would have a close connect with people across a large part of India.

It was only once, in medieval India, that the capital was shifted far off from Delhi to the Deccan: this was in the time of Mohammed bin Tughlak, when the capital was moved to Deogiri, renamed as Daulatabad. This is in the proximity of present-day Aurangabad, which was only weeks ago renamed as Shambhajinagar. The idea was good, but Deogiri/Daulatabad failed to last as the capital because Tughlak’s move was sudden and made without virtually any planning. Ultimately, the capital had to be moved back, and Tughlak gained his reputation as a maverick.

The marauders who entered India from the North-West chose Delhi as the capital because it lay on the route of invasion. With Delhi as capital, the ruler could firmly focus on dealing effectively with the next invader. But times have changed, and technology has developed. An invasion of India, if anyone were to attempt that today, can be prevented from anywhere in modern India, and not just from Delhi. The British, in fact, came into India in the 17th century through Surat on the West coast, and then spread all across. In this nuclear age, any place in India is accessible from any other place. So, the accessibility of the capital is not an issue in deciding where India’s capital should be. Remember that the British chose Calcutta as the capital to start with because the East India Company’s business interests lay there. They moved away from there to Delhi under the British crown for the reasons explained above. Thus came up ‘New Delhi’ as we know it today, the foundation stone for which was laid by King George V in 1911 and which was inaugurated as the new capital of India only in 1931, just 16 years before Independence.

Delhi, the national capital of India is also known as the crime capital of India. As per the data collected by Govt. or Non Govt. organizations, the crime cases in Delhi are on a rapid rise, in the past ten years they have got just tripled. Broad day light robbery, r**es and frequent killings on the streets have become a daily practice for the people with criminal bent of mind. Recently, the r**e cases occurred in the running cars and buses have shaken the entire nation.

It seems that law and order in this metro city is on the verge of collapse. The entire scenario has become more pathetic for the working girls and women who do not feel safe at all even while commuting in buses, metro train or in the auto rikshaws. The sad part is that crimes are taking place with alarming frequency and the measures being taken by the police administration are not serving the purpose. Today a crime takes place and tomorrow we forget everything. It seems that we will have to develop the habit of living with these crimes in our surroundings.

Add to that, the political leaders from time to time give statements that are very discouraging, particularly in the cases of crime against women. A few months ago, the chief minister of Delhi who is also a lady and has been ruling the state for the last 15 years, has stated that women should not be very adventurous keeping in view the fact that they are ladies. This statement was delivered when a women journalist of a reputed newspaper was brutally murdered while she was on her way back to home after her night shift.

When it comes to calculating the major reasons behind ever increasing crime rate in the city, they are many more. One of the prime reasons is the fear of punishment that has disappeared from the minds of criminals. Thanks to the Central Govt. that enacted lax law in the year 1977 making the bail process easier like never-before. Be it a ra**st or a murderer, he/she gets bail with complete convenience, and it takes the court of law years to deliver justice to the sufferers.

Another major reason for growing crime rate in Delhi is the lax of police officials who do not seem interested in recording FIRs with intention to keep their books absolutely crime clean. The logo of Delhi police proudly states “With you, for you always” but in real terms nobody knows with whom they really are. The nature of crime in Delhi clearly indicates that the incidents related to robbery and murders for money are committed by the people who come to the city from the neighbouring states like Uttar-Pradesh and Haryana, whereas crimes related to r**es and other kind of crimes against women are committed by local boys belonging to politically empowered class. On the whole, a complete overhauling is needed to make Delhi free from crimes.

बेंगलुरु में आयोजित एक सेमिनार को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि न्याय देना केवल गणना का कार्य नहीं बल्कि अंतरात्मा का निर्णय होता है।
उन्होंने कहा,

“कानून सिर्फ नियमों का तंत्र नहीं है, बल्कि निर्णय का तंत्र है और सच्चा निर्णय गणना नहीं बल्कि विवेक का विषय है।"

चीफ जस्टिस ने कहा कि अदालतें रोज ऐसे मामलों का फैसला करती हैं, जो किसी व्यक्ति की आज़ादी, गरिमा और भविष्य से जुड़े होते हैं। इन्हें आंकड़ों या एल्गोरिद्म तक सीमित नहीं किया जा सकता।

उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि AI पैटर्न पहचान सकता है जवाब दे सकता है लेकिन मानव पीड़ा को समझ नहीं सकता और न ही अपने निर्णय के लिए जवाबदेह हो सकता है।

उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि ऐसा तंत्र स्वीकार्य नहीं हो सकता, जहां किसी व्यक्ति के जीवन या स्वतंत्रता से जुड़ा अंतिम निर्णय किसी मशीन के हाथ में हो।

हालांकि उन्होंने AI की उपयोगिता को भी स्वीकार किया। उनके अनुसार AI न्याय व्यवस्था को अधिक प्रभावी बना सकता है, न्याय तक पहुंच आसान कर सकता है और मामलों के निपटारे में तेजी ला सकता है।

उन्होंने बताया कि न्यायपालिका में तकनीक का उपयोग पहले से हो रहा है, जैसे सुवास प्रणाली, जो फैसलों का विभिन्न भाषाओं में अनुवाद करने में मदद करती है। इसके अलावा, AI आधारित डिवाइस जजों को प्रासंगिक कानूनी सामग्री खोजने और मामलों के बेहतर प्रबंधन में भी सहायक हो सकते हैं।

उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि मध्यस्थता और ऑनलाइन विवाद समाधान जैसे क्षेत्रों में AI की भूमिका तेजी से बढ़ रही है, जहां यह पक्षों के बीच सहमति के बिंदु खोजने और समाधान सुझाने में मदद कर सकता है।
