We will host interactive interactive sessions at main events and present an exhibition at the Indian Pavilion, highlighting the transformation of Indian cities through capacity building, research, and advocacy.

On 27 September 2024, the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA)' Sanitation Capacity Building Platform hosted a Uttarakhand State Consultation Meet on Biosolids Management in Dehradun. Chaired by Shri Nitin Bhadouria, Director of the Urban Development Directorate and Shri Lalit Narayan Mishra, Additional Director. The event gathered senior officials from various sectors, including the Urban Development Directorate, Peyjal Nigam, Jal Sansthan, Agriculture Department, Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, and representatives from academia, NGOs, and multilateral agencies. The meeting aimed to tackle challenges and explore opportunities in biosolids management.
Key objectives included strengthening institutional coordination to integrate biosolids management and fostering knowledge sharing on best practices in co-composting that can be adapted. Notable outcomes included a deeper understanding of the benefits and feasibility of co-composting, the formulation of effective strategies and support for the government in establishing a working group to develop a state-level biosolids management strategy.

Together, we are working towards a cleaner and more sustainable Uttarakhand!
