"On the auspicious occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31 October 2025 with great fervour and enthusiasm. The program began with the Unity Pledge reaffirming commitment to national unity, followed by a vibrant Unity Run that promoted the spirit of harmony and collective strength. Students and staff participated actively through lectures, short talks, and video screenings on the theme “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, highlighting Sardar Patel’s remarkable role in uniting India. The event site was beautifully decorated with banners promoting national integration. The poem and video composed by students of ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi on Sardar Patel received warm appreciation from the audience. The celebration effectively revived Sardar Patel’s vision of unity and integrity, inspiring a renewed sense of patriotism and responsibility among all participants. Jai Hind."

The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI) and the ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB), New Delhi, jointly organized a Brainstorming Session on “Omics Research in Oilseed and Pulses for Aatmanirbhar Bharat” on 11th October 2025 at ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi. The session began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Girish Kumar Jha, Head, Division of Agricultural Bioinformatics. The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. K. Narsaiah, ADG (Process Engineering) and Director, ICAR-IASRI, who chaired the session, along with Dr. Ramcharan Bhattacharya, Director, ICAR-NIPB, as Co-Chair. Experts from ICAR-IASRI, ICAR-NIPB, ICAR-IARI, ICAR-NBPGR (New Delhi), ICAR-IIPR (Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh), and ICAR-IIRMR (Bharatpur, Rajasthan) actively participated in the interaction and discussion, sharing valuable insights on leveraging omics technologies to strengthen research in oilseed and pulse crops. The session concluded with remarks by Dr. Ramcharan Bhattacharya and Dr. K. Narsaiah, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sarika, Professor (Bioinformatics), ICAR-IASRI. The session highlighted the importance of collaborative innovation and the integration of advanced omics approaches to accelerate agricultural research and strengthen self-reliance in the sector, thereby contributing to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

A “Kisan Goshti and Launch Ceremony of Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana” was successfully organized on 11.10.2025 at the Dr Daroga Singh Auditorium, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (ICAR-IASRI), New Delhi. The programme commenced with the welcome address by Dr. K Narsaiah, Director, ICAR-IASRI. During the event, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji announced agricultural projects worth more than ₹42,000 crores for the benefit of farmers across the country.

The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, organised a two-day zonal training programme on e-LISS Software (Mobile App & Dashboard) under the Integrated Sample Survey on 29th–30th September 2025 in New Delhi. The training brought together State and District Nodal Officers from Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh. Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner(AHC) inaugurated the training in the presence of Shri Jagat Hazarika, Advisor (Statistics), Dr. Prachi Misra Sahoo, Principal Scientist & Principal Investigator, ICAR-IASRI along with other officials of the department. The training aimed to familiarize officers with developments in the e-LISS application, identify key data gaps, and suggest effective measures for ensuring accurate reporting of Major Livestock Products (MLP) namely milk, egg, wool and meat from all States and Union Territories of India.

The online training programme “Transcriptomic Data Analysis” was organized during September 23–29, 2025, by the Division of Agricultural Bioinformatics, ICAR-IASRI under DBT-funded project Establishment of Centre for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology in Agriculture-BIC at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute. The valedictory function was held under the Chairmanship of Dr. Rajender Parsad, Director, ICAR-IASRI, with a welcome address by Dr. Girish Kumar Jha (Head, Division of Agricultural Bioinformatics & Course Director). Dr. Mohammad Samir Farooqi, Dr. Sudhir Srivastava and Dr. Sneha Murmu were the Course Coordinators of the training programme. This training witnessed active participation of 39 selected participants (21 females and 18 males) from across ICAR Institutes, SAUs, and CAUs representing 11 states of the country.
