Today I visited Chuhar Chak in District Moga to inaugurate the Barking for a Better Punjab Stray Dog Surgery Center along with AAP Punjab Incharge Shri Manish Sisodia Ji and other distinguished guests.

This initiative touched me deeply. A modern facility dedicated to stray dog sterilization, vaccination, and rabies control, all provided free of cost and without any government funding.

Such efforts not only improve public safety but also reflect a society that cares for every living being.

I congratulate Dr. Iqvinder Singh Gill, Dr. Surinder Pal Sharma, and the entire team for their dedication and vision.

Let us all support and encourage such compassionate initiatives that make our communities safer and kinder.

क्या लिखूँ अब, आज पूरा दिन साथ था, आगे पूरा जीवन साथ हूँ - बच्चों के साथ आप बच्चे बन जाते हैं, जिससे भी मिलते हैं, उसका मन छू लेते हैं. आपसे मिलने वाला हर व्यक्ति आप पर अपना हक़ समझने लगता है, आप उसके लिए महज़ एक सांसद नहीं, बल्कि उसके अपने संजय भईया हो जाते हैं, भले ही वो आपसे पहली बार मिला हो. कुदरत ने, ईश्वर जो आपको सीरत दी है, वो बनी रहे, आप ऐसे ही मुहब्बत से भरे रहें, सेवारत रहें, सेहतमंद रहें, और हज़ारो लाखों की भीड़ में आप हमेशा - दिलीप, कहाँ हो, इधर आओ - वाली लाइन पुकार कर प्यार से मुझे आवाज़ देते रहें🤗जन्मदिन, मुबारक़, Sanjay Singh भईया 🫰🥳

१३ दिनों की “रोज़गार दो, सामाजिक न्याय दो पदयात्रा” का हिस्सा बना, सौभाग्य की बात है. जो देखा, समझा और जो महसूस किया, वह एक लेख के रूप में प्रस्तुत है, पढ़ें, आप भी समझें! फिर कहीं मिलना हुआ, तो चर्चा भी कर लेंगे कि सरयू से चलकर, संगम तक पहुँचना कितना सार्थक रहा!

Had an amazing time at UC Berkeley, speaking at a session organised by the India Speakers Club on Arvind Kejriwal’s inclusive policy & governance, participative democracy, and solutions to the modern democratic problems. What was meant to be a 1 hour talk turned into another 1.5 hours of lively Q&A, the curiosity about Aam Aadmi Party and depth of the discussion made it all worth it.

Earlier in the day, I had a fascinating conversation with Prof. Alison E. Post, Prof. Jennifer, Prof. Sai S. Balakrishnan, and several PhD scholars working on developmental and urban politics in India. Always inspiring to see how closely the world is studying our democracy.

And yes, I couldn’t resist a quick stop at the Physics Lab where Prof. Lawrence and Prof. Oppenheimer once worked, plus a visit to the famous 307-foot, world 3rd largest bells-and-clock Sather Tower, commonly known as The Campanile (those 61 bells really make an impression!), with the Golden Gate Bridge shimmering in the distance.

Thanks to India Speakers Club and Souyma Rangan for the kind invitation and hospitality, and to Sharavani, a media student, for a wonderful campus tour!

PS: The UCB campus has car parking scarcity and thus they have a reserved car parking lane just for Noble Laureates (how amazing 🤩).

I strongly believe that ideas without empathy are sterile, and empathy without ideas is chaos. But when both meet - POLICY becomes POETRY - saying this in context of a wonderful day I spent with some global policy experts.

Had a wonderful time at Stanford University on Democracy Day, interacting with a sharp group of students about politics of Aam Aadmi Party, and Arvind Kejriwal’s inclusive policies & governance in Delhi-Punjab, along with hope for participative democracy, and the art of running ‘low-cost, high-impact campaigns’.

Grateful to Dinsha Mistree for moderating the session and for his thoughtful questions that made the discussion richer.

Also enjoyed a stimulating conversation with Prof. Larry and Prof. Erik at the Faculty Club on the state of electoral democracy in India and the US. Always refreshing to exchange ideas that bridge two vibrant democracies.
