As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv, a mega programme was organised today at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Udhampur, in the august presence of the Worthy Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, Shri Sukhpal Singh Ji.(JKAS)

The event featured a health camp conducted by doctors, providing free check-ups and medicines, along with participation of banks for registrations under social security schemes, a CSC help desk for e-Shram enrolment, and a BOCW helpdesk for workers. On-the-spot Labour Cards were also issued to beneficiaries by the Deputy Labour Commissioner.

On this occasion, financial assistance worth ₹20 lakh was sanctioned for lower education, while an amount of ₹93,000 was released in two cases of higher education. A plantation drive was also undertaken as part of the programme.

The event witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from trade unions, labour unions, Chamber of Commerce, Beopar Mandal, Hotel Association, local NGOs, and a large gathering of workers and members of the general public, making the programme a grand success.

📢 Important Notice for Labourers of District Udhampur
On behalf of ALC Udhampur, it is hereby informed that the last date for submission of application forms for financial assistance for school education of registered construction workers’ children has been extended up to 20th October, 2025 by J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. All eligible beneficiaries are requested to submit their forms within the extended time.

An Awareness Camp under Sewa Parv was organized at Panchayat Kambal Danga, Block Udhampur on 20-09-2025 by ALC Office Udhampur, where general public and PRI members were sensitized about J&K BOCWWB welfare schemes, labour laws, and social security schemes including PM-SYM, PMJJBY & PMSBY

The Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) office in Udhampur inaugurated Seva Parv , with labour union members in attendance. The event featured
- *Shramik Suraksha Pledge*: Participants took a pledge to prioritize worker safety and welfare.
- *Pamphlet Distribution*: Informational pamphlets about labour rights and benefits were distributed among workers.
- *Awareness Rally*: A rally was organized from Labour Sarai to Main Bazaar Udhampur to promote awareness about BCOW schemes and labour welfare initiatives.

The ALC office Udhampur works to ensure worker welfare, including compensation for injuries, payment of wages and gratuity, and settlement of disputes. Seva Parv aims to further strengthen this mission by educating workers about their rights and benefits
