*DSMM calls for larger unity with worker-peasant movements in the country to fight against the four new Labor Codes*

Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) extends its support to the Central Trade Unions (CTUs) call for observing April 1 as Black Day against the implementation of the four new labor codes enacted and notified by the Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party government. The codes are thoroughly against the larger interest of India’s working population and an attempt to please Modi’s corporate bosses and promote RSS’ manuvadi agenda.

DSMM believes that if implemented the new labor codes will lead to complete erosion of hard won rights of the country's working class along with the right to reservation in jobs for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). *The codes, if implemented, will compromise the constitutional principle of social justice and equality.*

Apart from overtly being antithetical to the basic rights of the workers in so many ways the new labor codes also legalizes and promotes contractualization of jobs. *If contract based employment becomes the common way of recruitment employers would be exempted from any obligation to provide jobs to socially and economically marginalized communities depriving around 30% of India’s population of already limited opportunities prolonging their state of poverty, social and economic subjugation and subordination* .

DSMM calls all to participate in the protests called by the CTUs against the codes on April 1 and form a wider unity of the worker, peasants and social justice movement in the country to fight against the corporate-communal-manuvadi nexus.

We cannot accept this nexus of capitalism and manuvad to succeed in dividing the toiling masses of the country. We have the firm belief that, unitedly country’s working masses will force the Modi government to withdraw its draconian, anti-worker, and unconstitutional labour codes.

दलित शोषण मुक्ति मंच ने हाल ही में जारी यूजीसी दिशानिर्देशों के कार्यान्वयन पर सर्वोच्च न्यायालय द्वारा दी गई रोक पर गहरा आक्रोश व्यक्त करता है।

हालांकि ये दिशानिर्देश उच्च शिक्षा संस्थानों में सामाजिक रूप से पिछड़े वर्गों के छात्रों द्वारा झेली जाने वाली हिंसा, भेदभाव, मनोवैज्ञानिक दबाव और मानसिक यातना को पर्याप्त रूप से संबोधित नहीं करते हैं, फिर भी ये सही दिशा में उठाया गया पहला कदम थे। उन्होंने स्वीकार किया कि ये समस्याएं मौजूद हैं और इन्हें गंभीरता से संबोधित करने की आवश्यकता है।

इन दिशानिर्देशों के बाद हजारों प्रदर्शनकारियों ने अपनी उच्च जाति की पहचान का प्रदर्शन करते हुए हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिए हैं। ये प्रदर्शनकारी न केवल इन दिशानिर्देशों को अप्रभावी बनाने का अपना दृढ़ संकल्प व्यक्त कर रहे हैं, बल्कि भाजपा सरकार द्वारा अपने हितों के साथ किए गए विश्वासघात के प्रति अपना हिंसक विरोध भी जता रहे हैं। भाजपा के कई सदस्यों ने पार्टी से इस्तीफा दे दिया है।

दिशा-निर्देशों के कार्यान्वयन पर रोक लगाकर और स्वयं मुख्य न्यायाधीश द्वारा दिए गए कुछ बेहद दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बयानों के कारण, सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति और अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग के छात्रों द्वारा झेले जा रहे भयानक और सुस्थापित अन्याय के प्रति पूर्णतः असंवेदनशील होने के आरोप को अपने ऊपर ले लिया है।

यह आशा की जाती है कि जब इस मामले में अंतिम निर्णय सुनाया जाएगा, तो माननीय न्यायालय न केवल आज उठाए गए कदम को निरस्त करेगा, बल्कि वास्तव में यह सुनिश्चित करेगा कि दिशा-निर्देशों को अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जाए, उनका दायरा आईआईटी, आईआईएम, चिकित्सा और इंजीनियरिंग विश्वविद्यालयों आदि जैसे सभी केंद्रीय उच्च शिक्षा संस्थानों तक विस्तारित किया जाए और उन्हें अधिक लोकतांत्रिक, प्रभावी और संविधान के संघीय स्वरूप के अनुरूप बनाया जाए।
