Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, chaired the Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Power, Government of India in Chandigarh. The meeting focused on the crucial subject of Grid Stability in the context of rising electricity demand, large-scale renewable energy integration, and the increasing share of inverter-based resources.

The Hon’ble Minister highlighted the importance of a reliable, flexible, and resilient grid to support India’s clean energy transition. Members deliberated on key measures to strengthen grid stability, including transmission augmentation, energy storage, renewable energy forecasting, and the deployment of technologies such as STATCOMs and synchronous condensers for voltage stability and system strength. The Committee appreciated the ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Power and resolved to collectively work towards building a robust, secure, and future-ready power grid for the nation.

The Government of India has appointed Shri V. Packirisamy as Director (Commercial) at PFC. Prior to this, he was serving as ED – Entity Appraisal & IT at PFC.

Shri Packirisamy brings over three decades of extensive experience in the power sector and infrastructure finance. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the organisation’s operations and strengthening its appraisal and risk management frameworks, significantly contributing to the growth of PFC’s loan portfolio.

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, PFC organised a Swachhta Shramdaan near Gopaldas Bhawan, Connaught Lane, to clean a public area affected by accumulated waste.

The initiative not only enhanced the cleanliness of the surroundings but also reinforced the importance of civic responsibility, community participation, and sustainable living. Through such on-the-ground efforts, PFC continues to contribute to the vision of Swachh Bharat and inspire collective action to build a cleaner, healthier, and greener India.

🌿 Promoting Cleanliness & Health at the Workplace!

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, PFC, in collaboration with IHSM, organised an awareness talk on cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and wellness for hygiene staff at Shram Shakti Bhawan, Ministry of Power, on 22nd May 2026. ♻️

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of PFC and the Ministry of Power to promote cleanliness, the dignity of labour, and a healthier workplace, in line with the vision of Swachh Bharat. Sanitary kits were also distributed to hygiene staff to encourage healthy, hygienic practices. 🌿

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2026 (16–31 May 2026), PFC has set up a lively Selfie Booth at the Women’s Lounge, Barakhamba Metro Station to inspire commuters to engage creatively and share the message of cleanliness, hygiene, and civic responsibility.

Through interactive public engagement efforts like these, PFC continues to champion the spirit of Swachh Bharat and motivate collective efforts for a cleaner, greener India. 💚
