On 03 February 2026, a coordinated rescue operation at Azadpur brought hope to 21 children trapped in child labour. Working closely with the SDM Office, Police, Labour Department, and Prayas NGO, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU)-VI, North Delhi stood at the heart of the mission — personally supporting the rescue, ensuring every child was safely removed, comforted, and protected.

The DCPU team facilitated their production before the Child Welfare Committee and stood by them through every step of protection and care.

Following CWC directions, the girls and boys were later shifted to Children Homes — safe spaces where healing and a new beginning can start.

Because every child deserves safety, dignity, and a future full of possibilities. 💙

Following this, on the occasion of National Voters’ Day 2026, a Pledge Taking Ceremony was organised, reaffirming commitment to democratic values, responsible citizenship, and the importance of exercising the right to vote.

On 01 January 2026, a swift and decisive intervention by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), North West Delhi led to the rescue of a newborn baby boy, just 18 days old, who had been illegally sold.

Acting immediately on information received, DCPU coordinated with PS Kanjhawala for strict legal action. With prompt police response and effective inter-state coordination, infant was traced and safely recovered from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh within 24 hours.

Following due legal process, child was reunited with his mother, ensuring his safety and well-being. Necessary action has been initiated under relevant legal provisions, including Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006, against those involved.

🌱 Strengthening Early Childhood Education in Delhi 🌱

A team of experts in Early Childhood Education from Monash University Monash University, Australia visited an Anganwadi Centre in the Nizamuddin area, Delhi. The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful on-ground interactions and exchange of best practices in early childhood care and education.

The expert team also held detailed discussions with the Rashmi Singh Secretary, Department of Women & Child Development (WCD) and shared valuable inputs to further strengthen and enhance early childhood services of the Government of Delhi.

Such global collaborations reinforce our commitment towards nurturing young minds and improving the quality of services under the Anganwadi system.
