Harvard Fellow in Edwards of MGH

A snap from 1997, I joined Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston as a Harvard fellow. In historic building Edwards, at my desk. Professors Friedlander, Alfredo Quinones used to share other labs in Edwards and we had weekly club meetings. Osama Abdel Aziz from Egypt and Nazer Qureshi from Pakistan were also in fellowship program with me.

I worked there with Stroke model to examine the efficacy of Sodium Channel blocker as a neuroprotectant. Every morning I used to go for round with Professor Zoher Ghogawala, resident neurosurgeon of the MGH and observed cerebrovascular procedures done by Professor Christopher Ogilvy and his team. On Friday mornings we had radiological breakfast meeting where I met Professor Paul Hamilton Chapman, pioneer in Proton Beam Radiosurgery. In historc Ether dome we had grand round meetings. I met Professor Peter Black, Professor Joseph Madsen in Brigham women’s and Children hospitals of Boston.

I received the award from Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) while working in the MGH. Kenneth Maynard, the chief researcher of the cerebrovascular laboratory arranged a memorable farewell meeting taking Dr. Ayoub from Syria with him.
