Karuppu (2026) is a fantasy courtroom drama starring Suriya and Trisha, written and directed by RJ Balaji. It follows Lord Vettai Karuppu, the god of justice, who descends to human form to save an oppressed father and daughter fighting a corrupt and manipulative legal system. A helpless father (Indrans) and his daughter (Anagha Maaya Ravi) from Kerala travel to Chennai hoping to sell their family gold to fund the daughter's critical liver transplant. However, they are brutally robbed and, to make matters worse, fall victim to a manipulative and corrupt courtroom led by the cunning lawyer Baby Kannan (RJ Balaji). When all hope is lost and the ordinary justice system fails to protect them, Lord Karuppu decides to step in. Taking human form as a lawyer named Saravanan (played by Suriya), he enters the courthouse to battle the deeply ingrained corruption. What makes the core conflict interesting is the crafty challenge put forth by the antagonist: the deity is stripped of his magical, divine powers.
Forced to operate purely by human rules and the established laws of the mortal world, God must fight the predatory legal system on its own terms to ensure justice is served.
